Microsoft wireless keyboard bad signal.

I have a Microsoft wireless keyboard 850. In terms of quality, it's not bad at all. No letters vanished and no keys stopped working. Not even a scratch. And since I stopped eating at the computer, the keyboard is very clean.

However, the signal started dying a lot recently. At first, I assumed it would be the batteries so I changed them but this had no effect. I tried a variation of battery types from 1.5V alkaline Duracells and Maxels to nimh 1.3V Energizer batteries.

There are a lot of wifi devices in range such as a router and my android phone.

Any way to easily mitigate the signal issue?
In terms of hardware, this keyboard has lasted almost two years so far and I don't want to change it because I have had many issues with keyboard not lasting in the past. I would to at least attempt to fix this issue first before getting a USB keyboard.

Re: Microsoft wireless keyboard bad signal.

I connected one side of a usb cable to the computer and connected the other end to the usb dongle of the keyboard. I placed the dongle right next to the keyboard and the connection seems to be better now.
