By counter you mean you've been counting it yourself? Would you advise someone buying a phone and dealing with this hassle?infiniteloop wroteI sold my phone but the counter was frozen to 31 days left and it will stay like that as long as libanpost doesn't add it in the database, the day they will they will send an sms saying 30 days leftivy wroteWhat did alfa have to say? Btw, does everything function properly including mobile data? I'm eyeing out the OnePlus 7P but I'm reluctant due to the current situation.infiniteloop wroteThis law was made for the official dealers in Lebanon meaning for samsung, apple and Huawei, I think xiaomi has also a dealer now, they don't care about OnePlus as it doesn't have a wakil, my 6T is running fine and no sms from MOT since then.
Called and went to libanpos they told me they don't have 6T in the database.
Frankly if they wanted to add it they would have done so 4 months ago already
New Phone Jomrok / Customs duty in Lebanon
Send an empty sms to 1014
It still working to this day without an issue.Salloum wroteCan you please verify this info? The iPhone XR should be in the database and it shouldn’t work after 90 days, not even 120.mmk92 wroteMy friend owns an iPhone XR that also is way past the 120 days.
For the ones who paid, did your phones completely stop functioning? Or did you just choose to pay because the deadline passed?

Just wondering if everyone's phone is still working? Is the new rule being enforced in practice?
Mine stopped working as soon as the duration expired.
At first, the behavior was that the line would stop working after every phone call until you restart your phone or you do airplane mode (on/off). Then it stopped working completely.
I have mate 20 pro.

I'm not sure if this questions has already been answered, so I apologize if I'm repeating:
I live in KSA and I bought an iPhone X. I went to Lebanon few months ago for a short stay (5 days) and I received the message that I have to pay the tax at Libanpost within 90 days.
Now I will be going to Lebanon next month also for a couple of days, so the 90 days period has passed. Does this mean I won't be able to use my phone anymore with my Lebanese SIM card ?

Most probably no, you won't be able to.edrons wroteI'm not sure if this questions has already been answered, so I apologize if I'm repeating:

I was in the same situation; got an iPhone XS plus. Traveled to Beirut; got the message upon inserting a new sim; 6 months later, traveled again, phone still works despite being well over the 90 days period.
Only God knows what the heck is going on

is this list available on any page, or the only way to check is through liban post?

The text message you get from MoT specifically says that "you have 90 days of usage per year" thus you can potentially come for a 15-day trip up to 6 times a year and you'd still be fine.MrClass wroteI was in the same situation; got an iPhone XS plus. I recently got a Xiaomi Mi 9 SE. I don't think it's officially available here so I will let the 90 period run and see what happens. Hoping that it will not be included in the customs list.

Can you share their updated list please? I need to see which phones brands/models are excluded from this law.Sab23 wrotePixelxazbrat wroteOneplus?Sab23 wroteMy phone is still working as it is not on the ministry's list yet.
I don't get it.
If it is on the list, does that mean I have to pay or do I not have to pay?
I have a Razer Phone 2

Logically speaking, everything not on the list is excluded from this tax.
