Microsoft Replacement - Customs on Shipping

So my Surface Pro has a hardware defect and Microsoft told me to ship it in to swap out the part.
Now I did this a long time ago with Dell and when they shipped it back, I had to pay money on customs.

Does anyone know if things have changed or if there's a logical procedure so I don't have to pay?

Is there anyone in Lebanon that will actually abide by a Microsoft warranty? I asked the MS person on the phone they were helpless.

Thanks.

No you still have to pay customs. The customs will never consider it as a warranty replacement even if the air bill says it or there is no bill at all with the price. You are out of luck.

You just have to pray that the replacement arrive without any fault.. otherwise, you will keep on paying taxes for these robbers

One of my friends took it to Saudi and shipped it from there. Ridiculous.
