Hi, I'm looking for 5.1 or 7.1 speakers for my pc. I found logitech z506 and x530, but I need something with better quality.
Where to look?
Thanks
Edit: I checked bhv, khoury home, microtechstore and microcity. Couldn't find anything better.

Did you try M2?

I went to their bhv outlet. That's where I found logitech z506. Should I visit a specific branch?
What is your budget?

$300 or 400
There was a Yamaha showroom in Achrafieh near Embassy, they used to have the best sound systems in Lebanon

Not anymore?
Check out the Bose Companion 5, They're truly amazing, it's 2 speakers and one sub-woofer that give a 5.1 surround, and the sound quality is great (They are made for computers). I don't know how much they cost here tho.
I couldn't find quality pc 5.1 sets around, so I got a decent 2.1 system:

Viatek (ex-fidelio) used to have nice speakers set, dunno if they only have dvd surround systems or deck amplifier + speakers...(JBL,Denon,Bose...)
Are you connecting these speakers to a soundcard, or to onboard audio?

I want to connect them to a GA-Z68XP-UD4 board, which I'll buy next month:

It supports dolby surround.
How much are those speakers worth?
You might want to use an external DAC/soundcard to push them. Just about anything sounds better than onboard audio, even the Xonar DG, and the sweet spot is the Xonar DX or an equivalent external DAC. Please don't skimp on the audio source if you're getting a gaming rig.
Also, why Z68? Open a new topic and let's see what system you're planning to build.

enthralled,
May I ask you where did you find these S730 speakers?
I looked everywhere to get this set (S550 too) and couldn't find them, ended up buying a Z906 set from Microcity back in October.

I found the s730 at Radioshack hamra branch. Unfortunately the set I got was the last one they had. They have other Edifiers though. You might wanna check them out.
bumping this, any recommendation for PC 5.1 system ?

Yes the Logitech Z506 found at Virgin megastores.
100$ system is kind of cheap, anywhere to find the Z906 in Lebanon?
Also found a genius SW-HF5.1 5000 system for *150$* in a computer shop

Yes compuworld , however they are so old.
I got the zx506 from a nearby local shop for ~90$. I had the x540 before (started buzzing after 8 years).
The zx506 are good for the price, however the 540 had stronger/clearer sound (in movies) and higher volume on the center satellite. I loved the x540 sound more and sound control was more convenient . Still trying to tweak the ZX to get better results, they should work for now till I do a system upgrade.
Revisiting this thread, I am again looking for a decent speaker system.
Any recommendation?
price range: 300-500$
