Gaming laptops

Hello I'm new here and i came across this page while surfing the web trying to find the perfect laptop to get for my hardcore gamer bf.
Finally gave up on trying to figure this out myself and would appreciate some help from gamers.
I'm willing to pay up to 1700$ tops.
Also, my bf is a frequent traveler so the lighter the laptop the better.

I'd appreciate it if you guys could also mention what your favorite gaming laptop is regardless of the price range.
