Price is insane, I just bought one today for less than 900$, Asus Strix GTX 1080TI from Multitech.

I'd say wait for the 2000 series!

I'm not sure but there is a rumor, the mining wont work on these series and they'll be much cheaper.
I didn't know that , but there's another reason then to wait for the 2000's series.

This is the 11G Series not the O11G ( more factory OC) but what in inflated price seriously.

Waiting is a pain game , Ampere will be announced at GDC April , ETA to Leb August or September ( 2070 / 2080) at least 6 months from now. My strategy Ti with Ti always.
I've been waiting almost 6-7 years now to make a complete upgrade of my sandy bridge rig
Yes pretty much indeed, waiting is a pain, once Ampere will be out it will be Founders Edition only for maybe a month or two ... then the aftermarket brands, with better cooling, will start popping (Asus, Gigabyte etc ...) once aftermarket brands hit the market we might still be facing availability and pricing issues due to mining if things stay as they are now.
Bottom line and as a personal preference, get the best you can get at the moment and enjoy your time ...
