Great deal for a geforce 7600 GT on pcandparts

There is a EVGA geForce 7600 GT 256mb PCIx on sale for $ 151 on pcanparts.com

go to this page:
http://www.pcandparts.com/price.htm

and scroll down to
EVGA EV-76PASIV Geforce 7600GT 256MB w/TV     $151.00     PX-23

in the PCI express video cards section

This card outperforms the ati x1650 pro and it is currently IMHO the best deal for a graphic card on pcandparts. I think the price is very close to that of USA.

Here are the specs

    * Chipset: GeForce 7600 GT
    * Engine Clock: 560 MHz
    * Video Memory: 256MB GDDR3

    * Memory Interface: 128-bit
    * Memory Bandwidth: 22.4 GB/s
    * Bus: PCI-Express x16
    * RAMDAC: 400 MHz
    * Pixel Pipelines: 12
    * Max. Resolution: Analog - 2048 x 1536 @ 85Hz; Digital - 2560 x 1600
    * Connectors: VGA, DVI-I, TV-out (HDTV ready)

    * Support nVidia SLI Technology
    * Support Microsoft DirectX 9.0, Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0

Re: Great deal for a geforce 7600 GT on pcandparts

it is a dead end try one of the 8600 or 8500 series you get direct x 10 , unified architecture and Quantum Effects physics processing technology
price range $200-300
and nvidia hasn't released any new drivers for the 7 series since november 06 so i don't know if they abandoned the software support they used to have monthly updates
nvidia released a new gfx card the 8800 ultra so prices will go down
i would recommend the 8800gts 640mb but its pricey price range $300-400

i would recommend the 7600GT with the 150$ price tag for anyone who doesn't want to overspend, like rolf said it's good for its price/performance ratio

the 8800 should be left for the zealot gamers out there who don't mind spending saturday nights under candle light and with red wine sitting next to a sexy geforce ultra babe hehe, believe me , i should know :)

p4 dual core 3.4, 2gb ddr533, i965
i play doom3, farcry and company of heroes (i think) on maximum details (forgot what resolution - but at least 1024)
Yeah, i'm happy with it, exept for not being able to lower the fan speed (like other cards), which produces some fan noise.
