Well, BDL (Bank De Liban) Accelerate,
Garage48, and Hacking Surgery (developers of the
TouchSurgery app) are holding the 1st International HealthTech Hackathon event on November 3-5 2016.
Basically, there isn't much info to go on except the posts on both
BDL Accelerate and
Garage48's links, but the general idea is oriented at developing apps to tackle problems in the medical and healthcare industry.
I'm currently assessing the app TouchSurgery with a couple of friends in the healthcare industry (surgeons, OR nurses, intern residents, and biomedical engineers) to get a better feel of the app and somewhat see what's to be expected from the challenges.
As a biomedical engineer, I would be interested in participating if there's a chance for doing some hardware design related to the app development, or providing my expertise regarding medical equipment, medical accessories, scientific concepts and algorithms which govern medical operations and procedures, and anything regarding FDA, TUV, and ISO regulations that pertain to the healthcare industry. But, alas, my coding skills fall short (way, way short) from developing apps on any platform.
If there is a group of developers who are willing to take a shot at this, I may even be able to pull a few surgeons and nurses to help us out.
If interested, please PM me.
