PS-Vita Slim or Nintendo 3DS XL?

Salutations again,

My son's birthday is approaching and I would like to gift him either a Vita or a 3DS. He enjoys online gaming the most and fortunately our new connection allows us to game without much distortion. I was wondering if somebody can give me advice on which platform would be most suitable?

not a vita for sure, Vita is dead.
smartphones have killed handheld gaming systems. now that mario is gaming to ios, you can hardly beat smartphone gaming nowadays.
I would suggest a game console not a handheld. PS4 slim is great option.

Definitely 3DS, it has a much larger selection of great games. There's a big online community so he'll get to enjoy it for hours.

I highly recommend super smash bros, Zelda majora's mask, Pokémon omega, super Mario 3d land as starter games.

Go for a New 3DS XL, as said earlier the Vita is dead and the 3DS has a huge library of games. He will enjoy it alot.
