yeah saw that somewhere, but the largest image i've seen is like 2GB big  People tried opening it and it froze their system because they didn't have enough RAM

Nice find! :) ; the Google Earth image database is bigger (though it's not one image) but it uses the same caching concept as the above.

Guys and girls,

the largest image in the world can be made if you succeed to take a photo of the mouth of a popular local politician (no names though). Trust me, that will break any record.
