Best laptop under 500

hey guys, it’s time for a new laptop, I’ve been using the same acer for 12 years, it served me well, time for it to retire.
I haven’t been following the tech world recently, kind of lagging behind, so I want your advice.
I have a few things in mind.
1-14 inch screen, I don’t care for touch.
2-No hp, I’ve had 3 hp in family, they are all worth trash.
3- i5 or better new processor, good amount of ram. And a fair battery life for this price.

will be using it for videos mainly, zoom, some statistics software nothing demanding really… Some Microsoft office.
Your regular student laptop.

If you can also tell me where to look, it would be great.
