How can I connect a linksys router to the main modem/router and use the internet
Connecting linksys router to another router
Change the Connection Type to "Bridge Mode" on the Linksys router.
Make sure the Linksys router is connected to the modem.

I want to be able to connect the linksys to the modem wirelessly and use the Internet by connecting to the linksys router

You cannot connect a router to a modem wirelessly without having some sort of wireless access point between them.
Edit: unless a router supports it (which is somewhat of a quirky thing to have on a normal router)

If you can use wire, connect both via LAN LAN or LAN WAN
You can flash your router with dd-wrt firmware to support a wireless bridge, I did that long time ago with my Linksys WRT router.
Check installation link https://forum.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Installation
I used the old method on https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Bridge but you can check the latest on https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Client_Bridged
Note: you need to check if your router is supported for the wireless bridge firmware.

You want to use internet by connecting to linksys router you say. Is this by wifi or through the RJ45 ports?
I think what you're looking for is an Access Point setting on your linksys, see the above post and check if your hardware is compatible to flash wrt on there.
