Paypal automated payment

Hi everyone,

I have a problem where everytime an online transaction is done on my credit card I get an OTP (one time password) sent to my mobile. I have to manually enter this OTP on a specific webpage for the transaction to be processed.
However, I also have a subscription that I would like to automatically renew (without having to enter the OTP) when the merchant attempts to withdraw the monthly amount from my credit card at the beginning of every month.
I there a way to do that with a Paypal account ? If so, can you please describe the steps to do it ? Thank you.

Re: Paypal automated payment

I have the same card and from my understanding if you enter your credit card manually, you will get OTP, but for example like Airbnb, if your details are already there and you want to pay, if they charge you you won't have to enter anything. Did you try it?

Another way, perhaps call your bank to disable security for that specific website?

Re: Paypal automated payment

I'm not sure who decides when you get the OTP or not. I suspect it's your bank in which case you could switch banks.

I a subscribed to Stripe (the payment platform) and receive credit card payments. When someone does a payment, I can go into Stripe, and charge them again if I wish, without their permission (of course they can charge-back, complain, etc.).

So I am thinking, maybe it is a problem with your merchant, who are not doing things properly, and saving your card information in cleartext and trying to enter that information again every month - which is baaaad.

I have a paypal account as well and it would get debited automatically every month for Netflix so the answer is yes.

If you have a bank account outside Lebanon in a more developed system, it can also be set up to be debited automatically. You would also have other options like PayPal, transferwise, or other platforms to which you can register using your bank account.
