Re: Should I move to Canada?

I agree about Montreal, I've been there before for around 40 days in total, it's a great place to be and it has pretty much everything, including huge parks and lots of green everywhere. One thing though, they have a weird french accent, it might take you a day or a week to get used to it even if you speak french fluently.

How much do immigration plans and applications to Canada cost?

Re: Should I move to Canada?

The application and everything related to it (IELTS, medical exam...) cost around $1000.
You need to have money worth around 10,000 CAD in your account for the last 6 months for your application to be accepted

Re: Should I move to Canada?

Thank you.

Does that also mean it takes at least 6 months for the application to get approved or declined?

Most probably yes, it can take less or more, depending on your score and luck. I got it in around 8months, the background check is the last and longest process. Some people get their background check in couple of months, others take years.

Re: Should I move to Canada?

Hello, I unfortunately don't have the time to go through the whole thread, but I would say YES, pack it up and leave Lebanon. We are all seeing what is happening now and the last couple of months have uncovered the true nature of our country - just a money cow for politicians (we knew before, but now we know to which extent that's true). Canada is a fantastic country with mutual respect and very little racism, especially if you can live in Quebec (Montreal preferably), you will be happy there. The only downside is the weather which can be a little overwhelming. I lived there for 10 years and have the nationality and hope to go back soon enough.

I started a new project today with someone. It is definitely a god-sent gift and it will occupy my time while I get out of here. I'll ask for a detailed procedure at the Canadian embassy straight after the holidays.
I agree with Salloum. I never wanted to leave this country and abandon everything but it is the right thing to do.

The weather isn't really as harsh as people make it sound. You won't freeze to death.

There are couple of days per month where it's really super cold, and no matter what clothes you put on, you would still feel the wind inside your bones.

So far, most of the winter days have been bearable ranging between -9 to 3 degrees during daylight.

Haha, why? I wonder. Is it the electricity? The internet? The environment? The better salary? The higher work standard? The security and stability? The cultural diversity? The great outdoors? The events?

Anyway thanks for the update, I am happy to hear from you.

It was pretty obvious that there would be some positive consequences to your decision. Hopefully you enjoy them; take care and remember where you came from.

you need to note that processing of applications is currently stopped due to COVID, non the less it will resume in the future, furthermore, Canada is in deep recession, economy is expected to shrink up to 50%, so no jobs in the near future. finally the last CRS score was really high (470+) so i do not know what t o expect in the future.

saying that my ielts are scheduled by the end of this month, and i will try to submit my application in 2 months, in hopes that within 2 years things will be better in Canada, and the cutoff score will decrease.

Good luck

He's right, the same goes for Australia.
My partner visa is delayed until 2021 because the airports are closed International and the Governments are not looking at any applications.

I suggest referring to authoritatives sources such as official Immigration authorities websites.

I know they are still doing the rounds for ITA, and immigrants are still landing.

ITAs are only being sent to those on CEC and PNP. The FSWP has been halted since March 21 due to covid. Current score is sitting at around 478

that is what i meant..i assumed that the applicant would not have any Canadian experience, however, everyone able should at least start applying. in my point of view, even though there is a recession and CRS score are really high nowadays, i am betting that when everything clears hopefully in a couple of years the CRS score would decrease for inflow of immigrants to help build the new economy. after each recession there is a boom
