Asus DSL-N16 advice

Anyone have experience or feedback on the Asus DSL-N16 as a replacement for Ogero Dsl Modem? It is selling for $58 + Vat + Delivery at PC & Parts.

Thanks

Re: Asus DSL-N16 advice

I bought this modem from Pc And Parts about 2 weeks ago.
It has VDSL2 and IPTV options so it's a rather cheap (compared to other modems) future-proof modem and should still be good when/if those options are released in Lebanon.

There's one thing I don't like about it: In the DSL Log page (where it shows DSL connection parameters) you can see SNR, Attenuation,CRC errors and Interleave Depth (if any)... but it doesn't show HEC, FEC errors and Loss of Sync/Framing/Signal/Power, etc...

On a lighter note, the attenuation is a few dB higher (5 or 6dB) compared to the old Thomson TG 585 v7.
Ping and SNR (down/up) are about the same as the TG 585 v7.

The good thing about it is you can lower the max sync speed (for an increase in SNR down and also stability) in case you are on the open speed plan for example.

Make sure you update the firmware if you decide to buy this modem.
