PSU choice?

I searched pcandparts as well as microcity but both don't have an equivalent to an XFX with 650W under 100$!!
The Cougar is well priced with 80+ bronze but no Japanese capacitors, what to get?
Why no more XFX in Lebanon? it was a superbly priced PSU brand with 80+ and Japanese capacitors

Re: PSU choice?

A while back I bought an EVGA G3 750W Gold from Amazon CA and brought it to Lebanon with my cousin, because I had the same issue you are facing and couldn't find any decent PSU on the market except the Cougar (Which I dont really trust) ...
Until I saw on Facebook Ayoub computers posting about new Seasonic PSUs in stock and I was amazed about the prices and if I didn't get a PSU I would definitely have bought one from there. And if you are not familiar with Seasonic this is one of the leading brands in manufacturing power supplies, even some major PSU brands in the market are rebranded Seasonic PSUs.
Looking at your budget I would get the :
Seasonic PSU FM-650 650W 80 FOCUS GOLD Power Supply SSR-650FM for 97$  (PS: This is Gold not Bronze)
or check the full list here:

Re: PSU choice?

AyoubComputers has Seasonic PSU, and for really good price. I recently bought the Seasonic Focus Plus Gold for 100 something dollars, and it's really good in terms of voltage control. It never drops more than 0.8% in volts, and that is well within the 5% margin.

The prices for those PSUs at ayoub's are really good, considering a crappy thermaltake costs around 80$, you can grab the 650W for around the same price

Like Aly said, it's one of the leading brands, and has 10 years warranty!

Re: PSU choice?

Guys not all Seasonic PSUs are good. Not all Thermaltake PSUs are bad.

There is a PSU tier list that shows which PSUs are ok to buy and which are to be avoided.

You can always check here: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/63 … t-updated/

Luckily the ones you're looking is Tier 2; which is good (not the best) to buy.

Re: PSU choice?

I think all brands have entry level that can be bad or good and pro level that are mostly good.
Besides the 80 plus certificate I think people search for the Japanese capacitors, I checked all PSU under 80$ at pcandparts and none has both 80+ and Japanese capacitors
