Deep packet inspection at Ogero, ISPs

Hey everyone, I'm looking into the use of deep packet inspection in the country.

Ogero confirmed yesterday they used to use a system to block VoIP, but mothballed it a "long time ago". Here's my brief writeup about it: http://dailystar.com.lb/News/Lebanon-Ne … -voip.ashx

(Relevant: https://lebgeeks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=11601)

I'm trying to clarify all the details with Ogero, but in the meantime, I'm starting to look at the use of the technology at MIC1/2 and ISPs.

I know a couple ISPs were reportedly using DPI a few years back, but am not sure what the current situation is.

Anyone up on what's going on?
