Finding the source of the problem

Hey guys,

Here is our line's stats:
DSL Type:    G.992.5 annex A

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:    528 / 2.444

Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]:    0,00 / 0,00

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]:    12,0 / 18,5

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:    18,0 / 35,5

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:    10,0 / 10,0

Pretty bad eh? We should be getting at least 6-8mbps.

Ogero came yesterday and checked our line then went to the phone box and tested it and they told me that there's a problem with the wiring and went.

I want to call the electrician but I don't know what to tell him, I checked my neighbour's line and it's similar to ours. I tried another modem and disconnecting all phones but got same results.
What should I do?

One thing I want to note, we have this unused very noisy phone socket,if I plug a phone in it, the line attenuation increases.
Could it be whats causing the problem? All other phone sockets are clean.

Thanks in advance.

very strange, your filter should cut all noise from unused sockets, do you separate modem from other lines by filter?

I have filters installed on all phones and the router is connected alone directly to the socket,do I need to put a filter on it?

i suggest scheme "(ii) Single Inline ADSL Filter"

I think the noisy socket might be the master one? How can I check?

Re: Finding the source of the problem

master in topology should be inbound ogero cable, rest of sockets with phones should be connected after filter, in "telephone" part of filter
if you have all sockets connected to ogero and not detachable to change architecture - it's bad, first you will get inevitable low frequency noise from nearby cables in the walls, if anybody will remove filter - your adsl is screwed, if any filter on any socket will fail - your adsl screwed.

This is how usually sockets are connected, cable are coming to apartment and all sockets just hooked in parallel.
Noise points outside - nearby electricity cables
Inside apartment - electricity cables inside the wall.
All phones and dsl modem should have filter, each.

This scheme will filter low frequency electricity noise inside apartment, as it will be rejected by filter

Re: Finding the source of the problem

Today, the electrician came to connect a wire directly from the source Ogero box to the router directly.the wire looks like that: IMG_20171229_WA0025.jpg
He made sure it doesn't run through many electric wires. The cable was about 3 stories long.

Initial results were a bit promising, the speed increased to 3mbps and ping decreased by 9ms,now it came back down to 2.3mbps (line attenuation 37.5 db in adsl+2).

Can someone tell me what's the problem?
