Hi,
I recently bought a UPS for my PS4 to protect it from power interruptions, but it's not working as expected.
When there's a cut that stays for a solid amount of time, it works correctly. But when it's a micro-cut (a quick switch from ishtirak to kahraba), it beeps once and the PS4 gets turned off.
Can you suggest any UPS model available in Lebanon? Or what specs should I look for that will handle this kind of cuts?
I guess I have flushed some money down the toilet... Hopefully they will accept a return.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: I also found out that I have to turn off the UPS and turn it back on to get it running again (not a total shutdown, just press the front button).

This happened to me when I had a small (and kinda cheap) UPS. I recently got an MCE 1800VA and it's not happening at all.

i think it is related to the type of the UPS ( online or Offline ) i faced similar issue when i was using a small ups along with a big ups(for the whole house)

@Salloum okay thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it.
@MAD I only have one UPS with only the PS4 connected to it. I read about offline and online UPS types, mine is offline. I guess looking for an online UPS is an overkill (the article I've read suggested they're expensive), but any suggestions are appreciated.
MAD
@Adnan you're right online ups are expensive
the problem is that it takes less than 1 sec to switch between (dawle and ishtirak) so the ups freezes, so you have to put a timer on the ups (you can find it at almost any electric shop and it is not expensive, maximum 20,000 LBP) in order to force the electricity to stay offline for like 5 or 10 seconds (only on the UPS), then problem is solved
for more info or if it is not clear PM me
Adnan
That seems like a great solution. Do you know what that device is called? Is it easy to connect? How configurable is it?
MAD
I think that telling the seller that you need a "timer" for the ups would work, if you are in beirut area i recommend boujikian-dora,
keep us updated, meanwhile i'll get more info.
Adnan
Alright, thank you. I'll update the thread once I get to find it.
MAD
it is usually used to prevent all the electric devices to start at the same time so when (ishtirak) comes (la ma ytek l disjoncteur)
it is used a lot and the seller will know it directly, everybody calls it "Timer" :p
Adnan
Forgot to update the thread. I finally got a replacement UPS (under warranty), and the problem is not happening anymore. It was just a bad unit.
Thanks to everyone and especially MAD.
MAD
you are welcome
glad it is solved

Sorry to resurrect an old topic, what's the best ups at a budget for a ps4 ups that can keep it running for at least 15minutes?
