You guys are missing my point  Yes flash connects to the internet directly and Tor warns you about that , the thing is just use Tor to access the website and browse it , and play the videos using Adobe Flash Player plugin. Again this is only about the blocked porn sites and how to watch videos with normal speed , not going into other "deep" situation. You are looking to watch porn , not looking for privacy here , that's why the plugin is the thing.

I don't know. I thought flash would be blocked as well, and you would have to configure flash to work over Tor which is slow and might be complicated.
But it depends on the domain the videos are hosted on. The videos might be hosted on non-blocked domains, so your idea might actually work. Worth a try I guess.

Re: Ogero blocking some pornography?

Apparently they are blocking porn site because parents where complaining, seriously?! Maybe parents can apply a filter to their connection? or maybe they are too busy cheating on the spouses? And they seriously believe they can block porn sites? Let's hope their next solution doesn't involve shutting the whole internet, cause thats the only real solution to stopping porn.

Re: Ogero blocking some pornography?

It's just an unpractical, inefficient, cosmetic, superficial approach like so often in this country. There are millions of porn sites. They would be better off not blocking anything at all then blocking 4 sites, it would just be a waste of time and annoy and enrage people, and those who want will still be able to watch porn on other sites.

But that's and example of why I love that country, and hate it at the same time.

@m_zeid, so that means that so far, it's just Ogero. Like I said before, they both work fine on my phone's LTE. Wish you had saved that message though. Things are getting interesting.

The problem is not in accessing the Pron, the problem is with the ISP's blocking it.
Remember when they also blocked the online gambling websites, what if these are just the beginning & soon other things will be blocked?

This is internet censorship and it needs to be fought.

Try opening bing.com and search for pr0n it says this shit:
"Your country or region requires a strict Bing SafeSearch setting, which filters out results that might return adult content. To learn more about SafeSearch requirements in your country or region, see How Bing delivers search results"

This is not related to Ogero this is on all ISP's. Get your pitchforks

Thanks for the info about bing.com

But ISPs are not responsible regarding this, since this against their benefit. ISP would love ppl who watch porn so they consume more bandwidth and pay more.

Please look at my previous post to know why.

This is ridiculous though, since Ogero has a "Parental Protection" feature that can be turned on/off, This should apply just for those who want the filter and not those who want to open most legal sites on the web freely, but this is Lebanon so...

So Sehnaoui blocked casinos, and Harb blocked porn. I wonder what's next.

The casino block can be easily bypassed via HTTPS, this however doesn't seem to work with it.

true, even if ogero blocks porn on the internet, you think that will stop minors from getting it? when I was a minor me and my friends didn't even have internet, we got it from each other and many shops we knew that sold them, and we used to buy and trade...the easiest way is to torrent it...

Re: Ogero blocking some pornography?

As you can see that the one who requested to know block the websites is not the minister of telecom. It is directly coming from النيابة العامة. It is clear that there is a criminal issue that caused this block.

After all, who wants his kids to watch pornographic material? At least think about your families, your children, your women who might, mistakenly, see such bad scenes.

Obviously, this is the reason why they blocked it: http://www.lebanondebate.com/details.aspx?id=180150

Shortly, Manchester Interpol told Lebanon Interpol that those websites are publishing videos containing child molestation, and those videos are being uploaded from Lebanon. And some are being sold directly to Manchester.

The Lebanese guy that was/is doing it is under investigation.

Re: Ogero blocking some pornography?

Here's a hasty translation.

The reason why a number of pornographic websites are blocked in Lebanon.

The general manager of the Telecom Ministry Abdel Menhem Youssef has issued a decision to block access to several pornographic websites. Security sources have told Lebanon Debate that the demand originated from Interpol offices in Manchester which contacted Interpol Beirut which in turn contacted the cybercrime unit of the Internal Security Forces in Lebanon. The demand revealed that pornographic sites are publishing videos containing child pornography and filmed in Lebanon and exported abroad, in particular to Manchester. This was determined after a long and meticulous investigation.

Furthermore, sources told Lebanon Debate that the Lebanese person responsible for this issue has been arrested. It appears that the person was responsible for publishing the videos but wasn't involve in filming in any way. The 6 websites hosting the videos containing child pornography have been blocked, in Lebanon and abroad.

My opinion: utter bullshit...

Re: Ogero blocking some pornography?

Why block them only in Lebanon? Why not takedown the sites or at least block them on major isps from other countries?
Edit: Can access the websites from Cyberia

Obviously the listed website are accessible outside Lebanon so the claim quoted by rahmu is not totally true.

Re: Ogero blocking some pornography?

The child porn allegations are actually not bullshit. xvideos has been one of my preferred websites for finishing my research and I remember several times going on there in the past and reading notes left by the mods about how child pornography is illegal and how any uploader will be traced and have his/her details given to the relative authorities. I think there actually was a problem on there for a while.

If the government was actually blocking them because some dumbass parents didn't want little Ziad to watch "ze bad tings on ze google" then the government is a jackass. There are countless porn sites and countless ways to get across any blocked ones anyway.

Also, yes, xvideos is back online.

I remember there was also a ton of "rape" videos, but then xvideos just completely deleted any video with the word rape in its title.

Re: Ogero blocking some pornography?

Child pornography is a problem on any site where users can upload porn videos, and it was (and still is) a problem on P2P networks. It is a problem of course on onion sites where users can upload stuff while not being traceable.
Most persons are decent and will try to help against it for example if there are links to the said sites that contain child porn users would add a warning saying that it might contain child porn and you should probably not click on it unless you're a pervert; Tor search engines would filter out child porn. Stuff like that.

Re: Ogero blocking some pornography?

Use Tor network, or use a VPN access to what you want you can get free VPN connection with freevpnaccess.com
and some other applications like ghostvpn available for windows and android
and if you are still facing trouble download your stuff using torrents

hint: you do not need tor browsing and experts configurations to handle problems facing plugins, flashplayer and slow connections use tor to better search for websites not indexed by google
you can also use the duckduckgo.com website which is a great search engine
