There is problem with online schools software solution everybody using, they use very unoptimized traffic patterns and causing extreme load on all ISPs (not only IDM).
I asked my colleagues to call them and dicuss this.
If they will not listen or cooperate, probably i will explain in details and in way less polite words.

Can't wait ..

Re: Feedback for IDM

This issue affecting approx from 8am till 3pm, if IDM has issue out of this time, probably it is different problem.
Till now no answer from this eSchool, one of our engineers is contacting them, and i hope they will cooperate and we can make it great for all.
If he fails, i will appeal to public over social media and ask to call them "en masse" and fix their issues.

Well, I can "feel" it mostly between 11am and 4pm. Things were 100% normal again at 5:30 pm

Well it is back now at 9am
Edit: However, today it was back to normal quickly. Maybe because it is Friday and a lot of schools are closed

It was normal until 11:30 am (It was normal since Friday noon)
Now I started getting packet losses left and right! 14% and increasing
Edit: at 12:45 pm, the situation is better now. 2% packet lost

Re: Feedback for IDM

Anyone having problems with VDSL? Its seems the internet cuts and buffers randomly and lag spikes happen if gaming ever since I switched to VDSL ... I am suspecting bufferbloat/congestion is the issue. Is there anyone experiencing that or is it just me? I tried limiting the Wifi Bandwidth to 6mbps/28mbps (instead of the full 10mbps/40mbps) but the problem seems to persist still. I called IDM trying to explain the problem but its hard to explain and they just tell me open youtube 4k and stuff to see if I am receiving the bandwidth, but thats not the problem.

Weird.
Online gaming was the same going from adsl to VDSL (latency wise) except this month with all the packet losses (especially starting around 11 am till 6 pm)

A reply from IDM regarding the packet loss (around 25%) and the extreme slowness

"Kindly note that the intermittent slowness problem is affecting international link  and it should be solved shortly .

Should you need more information please do not hesitate to contact support at 1282 ext 2 . Our help center is available 24-hours a day, 7-days a week."

Liars!lol same lame excuse ,i don t have that much packet loss it is around 5% and it is only because of congestion due to everyone is home. In the end we all have shared connection and the pipe feeding us all can handle so much. I bet you that at the end of quarantine eveything will get back to normal. You have no idea how many users they stuff together on the same cabinet and ip to make extra profits in the expense of quality. If you want to test their excuse just use 4g or try it around 3 or 4 am and you ll know. Add to that that the government decided to double quota/speed and some offering unlimited 7pm to 7am like our infrastructure supports it.

It is now around 3% after 10 pm. But it was a disaster all day.
And yes, it is because of the congestion but they will never admit it.

Re: Feedback for IDM

Hello,
I have been experiencing some issues while downloading ps4 games recently. I’m getting an error such as “disconnected from server” or “DNS error”. Any idea how I can fix this, or what I can ask IDM to do?

I have an open speed connection with real IP, and was always able to download games at night during the unlimited quota period without any issues up until these last few days.

Re: Feedback for IDM

Probably due to congestion and increase packet loss. Try pinging a server or 8.8.4.4 and see the results.

From a former IDM user I have no doubt that their ping is awful and not stable, but to really isolate the issue you need to disconnect all the devices from the modem and only have 1 device (the device which he is gaming with) connected to the modem via Ethernet and test if it will happen.

The internet in Lebanon will spike its ping on any usage, add to that the low upload speeds is causing more ping spikes, sometimes it is an issue of a wifi device so if disconnecting all the devices is not possible try to have a ping to your gateway and check the result, it should not exceed 4ms in normal cases

Luckily I am not in Lebanon currently, just to brag a little bit :) here is my ping to the same IP

C:\Users\Ayman>ping 8.8.4.4

Pinging 8.8.4.4 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 8.8.4.4: bytes=32 time=7ms TTL=119

How is it that some IDM users have pings ranging from 60-80 while I always am getting ping that ranges from 90 to 120. What is the solution to this?

If it's consistently higher, then it's probably interleaving.

can you turn interleaving off for IDM? I once asked them and the dude was clueless. I get 80+ as well, usually around 90.

You cannot turn off interleaving in IDM. Is it possible that ogero can handle that request despite being an IDM user?

Anyone having bad upload speed at night reaching 60kbps? Gaming is unbearable  at this time, ping fluctuating between 999,400,300 ms and severe lag spikes. Im really fed up with IDM, I’ve been with them over 8 years. Im starting to think about switching to a cable guy which offers great speed ( download and upload ) with a ping reaching 60 ms. It’s a shame how dsl went so downhill once they started giving offers to everyone.

Did anybody try IDM iplan offers? They claim to be open speed with unlimited quotas. They don't provide the difference between the 3 iplan offers which makes it sound fishy.

I've tried subscribing to the iPlan popular plan for a month and must say it is kind of a scam. The only things that are open speed are caches services such as youtube, netflix, play store, psn... while other stuff is stuck at 2 mbps most of the time, while sometimes being open speed for a couple of hours magically. There doesn't seem to be a FUP of the cached services though. Latency is just the same as regular DSL.
I would not personally subscribe to it again as most of what I do is uncached, but some people might get great service if all they do is socail media and multimedia consumption.
