I ordered these 2 items from amazon to the address in New York they give you

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C6Q2GSY
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012V1HEP4

to my bad luck they weighted 0.53 kg so I have to pay an extra $8.6 for an extra 1 kg because I surpassed 0.5 kg. so I'm paying $19.60 for the delivery.

I ordered the items last thursday and used same day delivery, it arrived same day there but the record was created on friday on the shopandship website, and now the item shows in transit.

I have to say that their support is perfect and replies within minutes.

Which credit card did you use if you don't mind me asking? As far as I know, Amazon doesn't accept Lebanese CCs.

it did accept it, I have a lebanese debit mastercard

Good to know. Planning on ordering a coffee-lake CPU and mobo once it comes out.

I'm unsure why you ordered these from the US rather than China (aliexpress or banggood)... You would've saved quite much, you still have to pay customs and clearance fees.

@random-username Amazon DO accept Lebanese credit cards, in fact Amazon accepts any credit card, never rejected any of my Lebanese cards (Tested so far with HSBC, Blom, Audi, Byblos, BLC and all works).

I have an issue with waiting 2 months for the items to arrive from china, I calculated my spendings depending on the prices of the items in the local market (ekt2) which has everything priced at the amazon price x 3

What service are you using? If you are using ShopAndShip then it depends on the package weight and size

Correct me if I'm wrong, so if I buy a 350$ CPU right now through ShopandShip, it'll cost me next to nothing in customs because it comes in a tiny box and weighs 0.2 kg?

it will cost you 15$ total (11$ shipping + 4$ customs) if its weight was 0.5KG or less, recently I got a Ryzen 5 1600 with a DDR4 RAM Kit, unluckily the CPU is a bit heavy due to big stock cooler and the whole package was 0.6KG, I paid 25.6$ (19.6$ Shipping + 6$ Customs) which is considered a fair amount, I saved around 60$, as for the board I decided to get it from pcandparts just because it is expected to cost a bit more because of this estimated value thing of the customs and also because motherboards could get broken and I prefer to have it under warranty.

Note: Please be aware that Amazon warranty is lost when another shipping service is used, I read it once on Amazon site but I can't find the link now (searched it a bit)

Don't take this for granted (the 11$ shipping + 4$), yes it happens most of the times but sometimes they are strict and they check the attached invoice when they see the CPU real price you will have to pay a good amount for customs + vat ...
As for the Amazon warranty being void, I don't think so, however, they have a policy concerning freight forwarding you can check it here:

Amazon doesn't ship directly to Lebanon unless you are buying books, people here use freight forwarding services like Shopandship from Amarex and EasyShop from DHL.
As for the 1$ they charged you, this is just to validate your credit card but rest assured it wont show on your bank statement as they won't be charging you for this, however, by doing this you have just activated the prime 1 month trial, when this 1 month is over they will be charging you 99$ (unless you go to your account settings and choose the option to end the prime trial after 1 month).

I don't set the Billing address the same as the shipping address just to avoid having the bill with the package

I do the same as well, but it is a matter of luck, the customs are not idiots though, almost 70% of the times "bozmot" with (11$ + 4$) and the other times they make me pay

Thanks man for the info, but this 99$ charging after 1 month, it's way insane. Above this i would need to hire another shipper to get the items in here. What is the benefit of the prime with charging such amount of money..?

Not bad, but a small clarification you actually paid for an extra 0.5 KG not for extra 1KG
0KG    < W =< 0.5KG = 11$
0.5KG < W =< 1KG = 19.6$
1KG    < W =< 1.5KG = 28.2$

and so on, so it increases on each 0.5 KG step

Can you pay on ebay with internet cards issued from Lebanese banks, or is paypal the only way to make a purchase over there.
