Re: Feedback for WISE

I used to have Wise as my ISP before all the internet upgrades happened.
I did not like it at all, in terms of speed. So i changed to a local cable provider.
Yet i never actually checked their ping (i didnt play online games back then)
So how is the ping at Wise Dsl ?

Re: Feedback for WISE

@longbit: i'm wondering if WISE is good in all COs, because i don't know if my problem caused by ISP or CO.
so, if i decided to switch, how long does it take ??

Re: Feedback for WISE

Currently we are not accepting applications that will be connected to certain CO's, to be more specific, certain DSLAM inside the CO's because some DSP are facing overload problems so we decided not to make it bad for our new clients.
so you can apply and if your line will be connected to our DSP they will continue with application else you will be informed...
as for the waiting time, it takes 6 to 8 weeks from the day you apply.

Re: Feedback for WISE

send me a PM about where do you live, and i will try to ssh into a modem in that area and get you a ping result during normal and peek time, if you want.

Re: Feedback for WISE

Can you do that for me ?!
Also, i have a question.. You said it takes 6 to 8 weeks from the day i apply...
In that period of time, can i still remain with my current ISP (Sodetel) and when everything is finshed, i stop charging my sodetel account.. and start with Wise..
Does that work ?! Not only for wise.. but for other ISPs also.. Will it work ?!

Re: Feedback for WISE

I have Wise DSL, 1MB/12 GB quota. Speed is good, 100kb/s stable, ping is stable on 90-100 on EU servers

But I have a really, really annoying problem with the modem. (the white one) whenever the electricity cuts, or even when it comes back (fast change of power) the internet stops working, even though it is connected to a UPS. (and no, the UPS is not faulty, I tried two of them, and everything else stays powered up) and it needs more than 3+ restarts to start working again!

Re: Feedback for WISE

@AVOlio  i will ask about that issue tomorrow and give you an exact answer.
@ DarkNe0441 yes those old modems start to cause some problems after a while... we started using TP-Link... and no problem with TP-Link so far.

Re: Feedback for WISE

@AVOlio i asked the sales department about your question... you have to cancel your subscription with SODETEL first in order to able to apply. and i guess it the same thing for other ISP's.
however if you decided to apply, before you do anything send me your phone number and i'll have the sales department check if it is feasible, by feasible i mean if it will be connected to a DSP with no overloading problem.

Dear Avolio, Syria is next to us geographically, but it's not in term of connectivity.
we don't have a direct connection to syria. When sending a packet to syrian host, it travels to europe then reach syria, so the route to europe is shorter than to syria.

Got it ??

Re: Feedback for WISE

@amkahal   thanks, i didnt know that.
I asked for a speedtest to aya cause that how i do my speedtest as usual and just want to compare..

@longbit
Great, pings at Wise seem to be very stable and low...
The reason why i switched from Wise long ago is because of their speed, it was very low than my plan. Specially during the free night traffic.
What Plan is this, of which you did the speedtest to ?

Also should i send you our line number through PM for you to check availability ?

Re: Feedback for WISE

the pings are from 1m speed users one of them was 256 (he is +3.5km away from the CO) the AYA speed test was from my office (2m speed)

[EDIT] if you have already a dsl subscription let me know about your phone number, else check it with our sales department

Re: Feedback for WISE

I switched from Sodetel to Wise, I had enough with Sodetel's satellite crap and applied for a 2 Mbps connection with Wise at the end of June 2012, I got my connection in the middle of September, the connection is on fiber day and night, stable and rocket fast even better than my old so called 4 Mbps with Sodetel, so far so good.
Here's some tests I did now:

2307934280.png

72281405.png

@ Avolio you cannot remain with your current ISP and apply at the same time with another one, you must terminate your current connection first, my DSL application took about 3 months with Wise because I was in a rush I applied with Wise while still being with Sodetel, the DSP runs some test on the line to check the speed your line can handle, my test results were not accurate and they told me my line couldnt handle more than 1 Mbps while I had 4 Mbps with Sodetel, but as soon as I terminated my Sodetel connection they made another test and this time it was good, my line could handle 8 Mbps, so don't rush with your application, make sure you terminate your old connection first.
