solo220 wroteDear mesa177 after "googling" the TC-11 characteristics it looks that TC-11 protects metals from rusting , and it look that it has nothing related to cleaning your pcb's and the mud residue , wd40 has the same characteristics of TC-11.
did you use wd-40 with the pcb's??
some times i clean old dusted pcb's with hot water then I use a hair dryer to evaporate residual water.
Actually, when I
"googled" it, its characteristics are not the same as WD-40 (the description is the same but unlike the WD-40, the TC-11 doesn't attract dust when applied, and no, never ever apply WD-40 to PCBs, just use it to lubricate mechanical parts or freeing stuck nuts, bolts and screws). However, it did mention that it "make(s) electrical systems virtually impervious to the effects of water for extended periods of time". My friend says that it removes rust remarkably well compared to other sprays, so he suggested I try it on mud.
As for the hot water bath, I'll give it a try for one of the small PCBs.
