Creating a large vinyl banner - real versus digital dimensions

Hey guys. I was asked to create a large banner for an upcoming event at work. Of course the banner will be designed using photoshop, and I have no problem with that. The problem I am facing is what to choose as dimensions for the photoshop document. If I create a new photoshop document and use the real banner dimensions (which might be 35 meters in width and 2 meters in height), the photoshop size becomes in GBs. What digital dimensions should I use for a 2x35 vinyl banner that would still print well and have an acceptable document size?

Ask the printing service which resolution they want.
By the way I recommend using Corel draw and not photoshop. Since Corel draw offers a freedom in dimensions.
