Pay as you go hosting

I'm very happy with NFS. Their payment scheme is awesome for getting started and only paying when you really start to use resources. Scalable pay as you go, no free hosting, no fixed rates means they never  oversell like other companies.

Also, no hidden nukes to dodge and awesome documentation and  barebones management system. Simply ssh... I'm really happy so far.

Unfortunately, they only offer shared hosting, so no SSL :(  (IPv6 is way overdue) ..

Can you recommend anything else?

With AWS you pay only for what you use. You will need to be somewhat experienced to use it, though. For a dynamic website you'll need an EC2 instance (you could start with a free micro instance).

I never did get an email.. Tried signing up again and the https connection would just hang there .. forever. I thought it was something wrong from ISP side, or something from my router, or my browser .. then I jsut started feeling stupid ..

Finally I changed credit card and .. i'm in !
