  • NuclearVision wroteI recently shipped a 300$ watch with aramex, it was held at customs for being ‘high value’ item
I received a call from them that I choose to clear it my self(25$ permit to clear?? + other charges) , or they could clear it for 2109000 + import fees.
It’s weird because i’ve ordered more expensive things in the past and didn’t have to go through this, everything in the past i paid customs for using the usual formula which is vat and customs based on LBP
    am i being ripped off?
Why should i pay i usd if i choose to clear it my self.

Note; i shipped another item with fedex last month and didn’t have a similar issue.
I ordered RTX 3080 Ti which is much higher value. Customs were paid by DHL, they delivered it to my address and i paid the customs at 1500 upon delivery.

A rate of 8,000 LBP to 1 USD will be applied to Clearance Charges, VAT on Clearance Charges and to DHL Express Issued Delivery Orders.

    Thank you for your understanding.
    Sincerely,
    DHL Express
Old news. They used to charge all of these fees on their site at the 8000 rate, or fresh USD if you select USD as payment, which was robbery. Now they only charge for shipping in USD. You pay the clearance and taxes in LBP at the 1500 rate upon delivery. They haven't updated their email notifications yet, still says 8000. I made like 6-7 amazon orders in the past 40 days, all the taxes were paid at the 1500 rate. I assume it will be updated to 15000 LBP at the end of October, due to the decision of the central bank and the ministry of finance.
  • AVOlio wroteThe guy just shared his experience at the time with the company, and I remember very well that time everyone was receiving their orders.
true he did, and i got my orders at that time, he could've stopped there but no he kept on defending them here, on facebook and joining telegram channels like who does that? why all the hassle? people do that when they have something to complain about, not to vouch for other companies with nothing in return. the problem isn't that he kept vouching for them, he just disappeared when the company stopped delivering. he showed screenshots of him contacting Raja directly on linkedin, "more like showing off that she acknowledged him" he either saw a job opportunity, or he knew the company is fishy and did all that just to have his orders delivered and scr*w the rest. again see the screenshot for his orders being delivered in a month. you are in the telegram channel, see the orders for the people who ordered before him, he's being prioritized.

if you're betting on tech guru reaching out and saying "hey buddy thanks for defending me, let me contact my friend Raja directly, and ask her to ship you your tv asap." you're being delusional.
  • LifeEngineer wrote
You cannot call it that. Libazon existed since 2017 and served thousands of orders without issues.
true they existed since 2017, but they were the most expensive, their prices were double the prices of their competitors.
LifeEngineer wroteMe and couple of friends did orders in the millions of LL around start of 2020 (start of the pandemic) and we all received all of our orders in 3 to 6 months period.
i received my orders too, we got lucky being early birds, none of my friends received anything and its almost a year for some. to be fair they are delivering small orders after 6-7 months, just to keep the hopes up and continue with whatever their plan is.

now i came here to share a friend's case. he placed an order with libazon for 66m.

and after months of waiting messaging back and forth, (im not gonna go into details here, we all know the typical answers) he asked for a proof for the order, he contacted Raja directly and she sent him this.

he contacted apple and asked for a copy of the invoice, see below.

you can clearly see that everything got forged except the order number, they sent him a fake invoice!

    and more..

i don't know how they're gonna pull this off but i know that @techguru joined the telegram group we created, and started sending screenshots for his orders being delivered in a month encouraging everyone to buy, while those who ordered months before him havn't received anything yet.

he joined the group, gave some hope to everyone then left immediately.

    draw your own conclusion.
  • sorry i couldn't post earlier. libazon called me on monday and said that they got all my orders in their office, they asked if i can go pick them up or wait till next day and have them delivered by aramex. told them ill go pick them up.

i went to their office at chhim, and met the staff, they were so nice and friendly. they apologized again for the delays. i looked from the warehouse window and saw lots of packaged orders inside, some were big items probably fridges or beds. i do think they ship by sea cargo which explains the shipping delay. they insisted on opening the items and inspect them one by one, the items are brand new and sealed, the fujifilm got a tamper sticker that turns transparent if opened, its still sealed and brand new.

turns out they really do have tons of orders, i would order again if im not travelling. i do recommend buying expensive items that you are ready to wait for.

at the time of order the fujifilm cam was 8m lbp on shipped.io, i got it for 4m with a bunch of accessories for half the price, even less than the retail price which is crazy. again you can save a lot of money by waiting more.
"right now this cam is 12.5m on shipped.io and 5m on libazon!"

only problem with libazon is the lack of communication and the shipment delays "corona and high volume of orders", but you save like 50% so you cant complain, they are legit and i got all my orders in perfect condition.

  • farouq3d wrote Thanks a lot, many people advised me to contact bitcoinduliban, but I didn't bcz they are Lebanese LOL
I think I'll go with them, let's see
they are lebanese yes, its an educational site and group, no one will ask you for money or btc, as a matter of fact, they do free btc drops from time to time, the main goal is to help as many ppl to get out of the system and have complete control over their money.
  • farouq3d wroteHello,
Is there anyone here who knows how to create a trusted bitcoin wallet in Lebanon
if you want a mobile wallet only use opensource ones like mycelium and bluewallet.
use mycelium if you have android and bluewallet if you have iphone.
dont store the recovery seed in a digital file or something connected to the internet, write it on a paper and store it in a safe place, if you lose you lose your coins if you delete the wallet or change your phone.
you are ready to send and receive bitcoins right after you install and note down the recovery seed, also do a test send like 1-5$ to your wallet, wipe it and restore it for the peace of mind.
you can also see this site bitcoinduliban.org for more information, and their telegram group is very helpful.

This is exactly what happened to me i had 2 items in the same order and i received the cheaper one as seen in the pic. As for the "cloth" part this only for internal shipping via aramex i m sure they don t tag a mouse as cloth for customs.
    https://ibb.co/m0NS9Mp
    https://ibb.co/8j3Px6k (tagged as cloth too)
why does it say cancelled for the tv? was it you who cancelled it or they offered the cancellation and a refund? if so, it could be a scheme to exchange lbp to usd at the date of order, then refund lbp 2 months later and make profit.
  • AVOlio wrote Can you share the group link please?
    t.me/libazon
  • - as i said before 99% of the times they dont order from ebay
    - you'll receive a box labeled "cloth" with 0$ value, they dont pay taxes
    - the estimated delivery dates are not accurate and if you dont keep asking about your order it will take more than 2 months
    - if you order 2 pieces of the same item you wont get them in the same box you'll get the 2nd item weeks later
    - they havn't delivered any order above 4m yet.
    - if you order a bunch of items, they deliver the cheapest one first, and you'll have to contact them then they'll reply "you'll get them soon"

source: telegram group with lots of buyers.
  • bobo619 wroteDid you check their website recently? They have nothing of worth you can buy right now and don't think they are updating their catalogue but inflating their prices. Their legitimacy is one thing but they are dishonest about their practice as my tv i ordered 1month and a half ago has not even been bought from the ebay seller and now if i ask for a refund they will refund me the lbp back when the exchange rate was 4000. I believe they will call me and ask me to withdraw the money because if they haven t purchased the tv yet they will have to buy it at big big loss.
i called them, they dont order from the same seller or even from ebay, those listings are just a catalogue you choose from. im pretty sure they ordered your tv, but it may be a different model or refurbished, its a gamble.
  • zizo99 wrote yes, it's like having apple TV device on all the time. you kind of convinced me buying this TV plus its cheaper then most of TVs in local markets. but my problem i use siri for my homekit devices, that's why i'am looking for apple TV box
oh if you're in the apple eco system, you dont have to think twice, get the apple tv it will be better choice having it working with siri.

..you can also get the roku tv and use the apple tv box with it, you switch between them.
  • zizo99 wrote
and roku works on 120fps? what do you use roku on? what do you watch on it? netflix for example
well in my case its built-in in the tv and uses 120hz, i cant find information about the stand-alone roku player so im not sure. i only use it for netflix and the movies i download, i do watch the news from time to time.

EDIT: to be clear the tv OS is roku, its not something you can switch on or off, the tv boots up like a pc and has shutdown and hibernate options. the tv or cable is an app inside the roku home screen.
  • bobo619 wrote 120hz on what resolution? i have an nvidia shield and i can push 1440p 120hz with hdr and 4k120hz hdr is only for hdmi 2.1.
interesting, the Shield tv pro can do 60 fps max in all resolutions according to nvidia site.
  • zizo99 wrote what is your review concerning roku? does it support any arabic/lebanese channels?
well im not sure if you get the roku player you get international languages, the tv i have doesn't have arabic and it shows arabic subtitles as unicodes. i was considering getting nvidia shield tv but its does 60 fps only, while roku does 120 fps, i dont think i can go back to 60 fps lol.

EDIT: fire tv, apple tv, and nvidia shield they all set your TV to a refresh rate of 60 Hz, this means if you have 120 Hz tv you wont benefit from that you'll see 60 frames per second.
  • zizo99 wrote
excuse my question: but why roku tv or tcl tv? why not any smart tv from samsung for example?
you may think tcl is not a reputable company due to the cheap indian units we have in lebanon with android os, but its actually a reputable usa company and this tcl tv in particular was the number one best seller on amazon.

they went cheap on the materials it feels very light but they used a high end display, i promise you 2k tv doesnt come close to this, its a 120 hertz 4k bezel-less display with HDR.

i was comparing this with the toshiba fire tv they are head to head, but the fire tv is android os and it lags very often, while roku is butter smooth, i saw a comparison between the two on youtube. the roku player is 99.99$, its built-in in the tv, and comes with alexa and google assistant, it was actually a very good deal.
  • AVOlio wrote How did you ship a TV from Amazon if you don't mind me asking
with shipped.io, there was a bug on their site when you add an item with addon item in cart it doesnt get the real weight or dimensions lol. i ordered it a tv with a soundbar, they fixed the bug and shipped the order anyway, they said the price you see is what you pay and they'll take the loss.
  • zizo99 wrotehello,

Is Apple TV works properly in Lebanon? is it worth it?
because amazon fire stick doesn't function properly in Lebanon, i want to check what is the case for Apple TV before buying one
i use roku tv, it came integrated with a tcl tv i shipped from amazon, when signing up i found lebanon listed and everything works fine. you might wanna consider Nvidia Shield TV its the big best thing right now, it does smart 4k upscaling for hd videos without quality reduction, very useful in lebanon if you have a slow internet and wanna watch netflix in 4k.
  • ivy wrote If the items you guys bought (dan28 and xavier) where cheap compared to others on the website, this might the issue here. Hope this helps.
this is not the case, the cam i ordered actually costs more than the retail price, and its from a reputable seller.

Elie335 wrote You guys got" too excited " and all of you pulled the trigger at once.

You should've waited for more "real" reviews.
no one got excited and we waited for real reviews, tech guru took the risk first and he posted all the conversations, in addition to the tracking and proof of delivery, he is a member since 2013 i dont think he is affiliated with them, unless they reached him and offered a free item or a discount for a review in return? im wondering why did he leave the conversation after vouching for them.
    Tech Guru wrote Genuinity (Checked)
    Delivery (Checked)

Both checked , they are number one to me, no question. In this economic down spiral , my primary purpose is to save money. Libazon , till now , supports this reason.
im sure he has answers to our questions since he went through this before. or since he is close with the ceo on linkedin now, he can just tell him that members here are suspecting they got scammed because no single order was placed so far.
  • Dan28 wroteUpdate#1: paid at omt office

my invoice is 4,044,000 LBP, omt said they cant send that amount in 1 transaction as the maximum limit is 1,500,000 LBP and they cant send 2 max transactions after each other. what they did is, they sent 4 transactions that sum up to 4,044,000 LBP, i told Libazon about this and they said its cool.
i didnt pay transaction fee, its covered by Libazon, so what you see on the site is really what you pay.
i also asked omt employees about libazon and they confirmed they have done transfers for them before, all good so far.

    EDIT:

    Update#2: payment confirmed

just received an email stating that the payment has been confirmed, and the order status on the site changed to "payment confirmed".
    https://i.imgur.com/NHImksw.png
    Update#3: got scammed?

been 3 days since i placed the order, i've been checking the cam i ordered on ebay and the quantity never changed, the seller has 2 items and he still has those 2 items.

    assumptions:

1- they haven't placed the order yet: this is really bad the items can go out of stock any time.
2- they ordered from a different seller: well that's worse they could order an open box, refurbished, or used item.
3- they actually placed the order and the seller restocked: this is not the case i made a bot to send a notification as soon the quantity changes.
4- they scammed me: i hope not, many posts in this thread vouching for libazon unless they got free items to advertise for them and i took the bait.

it's more likely number 2, you order something and they look for a cheaper seller to save cost, they say they open the box to inspect the item, so they can look for sellers selling items labeled as "open box" and just repackage them, or let's say you order a used item they could order from a cheaper seller and the item would be in a worse condition.

i contacted libazon on whatsapp and mentioned this, their reply was "don't worry we'll let you know if there is a problem with your order".
    - huh nothing related to my question!

this is gonna be interesting ill wait and update here if anything new comes up.
