I'm thinking of buying Sapphire Radeon HD5750 1GB DDR5 VaporX.

Should I wait for the 7000 series instead?

It has the same performance as a 8800gt + dx 11 (less heat and power consumption as well). But if you buy that card now, you will upgrade as soon as a new generation card hits.

I say either get a stronger card, o keep waiting for next gen cards. Whats your gpu now?

well am not a gaming guy if i ever play a game it will be Dota 2 , and i dont care about max resolutions...

if the game runs smoothly with medium resolution i would be happy.

I dont even have a gpu right now, i use the one that comes with the motherboard ^_^

The 5750 is the highest model AMD makes that doesnt need an external power source, e.g. 6-pin pci-e connector.
Other than that its really a waste of money. If your rocking on the built in right now, i suggest you stick to it.
Waiting for amd 7xxx series is the right thing to do. Remember AMD lines up its gpu from mainstream to enthusiast. So we might see midrange gpus sooner than high end.
If all else fails the 5670 would become cheaper :P...

I don't really understand the segment you're seeking...if you're not a gamer and want a low-end card lower than 5750's would suffice...If you are a casual gamer then the GTS 450 competes with the HD5750 and is often found cheaper (only in Lebanon :P)...if you are a serious gamer then the HD5750 is out of the question...although it can probably perform, but is a bit long in the tooth nowadays, especially at high resolutions.

Also the GTX 460 is available at a really close price point and PWNS the HD5750.

@yasamoka, well i have an old pc (2 dual core 1.6) and i just want to help the guy run programs and stuff ..

Watching a video + programming on eclipse + running gimp will give the guy some hard time...

that is why i was thinking of getting a gpu mainly...
