Okay...screen res is 640x480, that's a great res for 2.8 inch screen, 285ppi (slightly less than the iPhone's retina display)

1.2GHz CPU is great, 768MB RAM is finally increased from previous versions, 8GB internal memory is a nice choice, 720p video is an improvement.

Now the negative points: As you know, I'll start with the BB OS...it's always a few steps behind compared to other OSes...and the screen is 4:3, do you prefer that with the 16:9 ratio dominating the mobile market? And the battery may be a bit weak (1230mAh while the curve 8900's is bigger, for example). Some say the camera quality is poor.

Overall, a nice improvement, and a nice phone. Be sure to check build quality too.
I prefer 4:3. Gives space for that amazing keyboard.

Actually, I prefer it too for that reason (I HATE wide horizontal keyboards in slide-out phones like the N900's) and for the reason that it gives more area and more lines of text making things like whatsapp and articles easier to read. But I prefer 16:9 for watching movies though.
Its as simple as this: If you're a previous Blackberry and would like a new one, the Bold 9900 is a definite choice for you.

As for the hardware and specs, this phone should have been released a year ago. Nowadays, compared to the latest Android phone with their dual-core CPUs and with their multitude selection of apps in the Android app store. The same can be said about the iPhone. For the price of the Bold 9900 you can get a superior phone with much powerful specs and software with a high number of apps.
If it has a 1.2GHz CPU and 768 MB of RAM, then it's way better than the Nokia E6 which also has a full keyboard and a touch screen.

I really like this combination of full keyboard + touch screen.
it really doesn't depend on specs it depends on the experience if the os don't use virtually any resources no need for a dual core to suck power away experience over specs blackberry has an edge on others here in lebanon because the service is available for pre-paid. BY the way the screen is great on the 9900.
@Chup : I read this article on wired as well. To be honest, this is the only website that is bashing the bold. And for its price its not rim to blame its tmobile. Because in canada it retails for 200$.
I think wired are just against rim.
WOW! I just called blackberry down town and they told me it would be in stock in the next few days. The approximate price would be 1200$!! This is just wrong! 600$ is a bit steep for a blackberry for 1200$. Plain outrageous !
$600 overcharge. Tell them they can keep it and preferably to dip it in tea and drink the resulting solution! :D

Or coat it and "use" the resulting device...sorry I had to...
If you can wait for a bit, T3ME.com (you know the magazine, now we're launching the website in september) will be giving away several 9900's in the launch month. Maybe... Ehem... As Web Editor in Chief... Ahem... I can... Ehem... See what i can do...
