Okay, spent a couple hours on google, found out that a PCMCIA card will work (as I have the slot thank god).
Main thing I want to know is if there is any difference in internet connectivity and performance? I do realize that the antenna goes only where your laptop is, unlike a modem, but it is much cheaper and portable. If there isn't too much connectivity or performance, then I will most likely get that device for my internet.
As for the ISP's, who's had any good/bad experiences with either Mobi or IDM wireless broadband. I'm having trouble deciding between the two. Mobi (
http://www.mobi.tm/Account_Renewal) has a cheaper PC card (128-66), but their cheapest plan is $45. What makes up for that is the extra hour of unlimited sersvice (12-8, not 7). IDM (
http://www.idm.net.lb/products/broadband/pesco.asp) has a more expensive PC card, 1 hour less of unlimited traffic, but it has a cheaper plan.
What are your experiences with both? I'm leaning towards mobi atm.
EDIT (Important!): Just recieved an email from pesco, here's what they said.
"We can activate (free of charge) on our network a unit that is compatible technically, based on a request received from one of our connected ISPs (WISE, IDM, Sodetel, Cyberia or Terranet).
Note: Technically compatible units have one of the following part numbers:
900-0082-xxxx
900-0071-xxxx
900-0060-xxxx
900-0050-xxxx
And the model number contains : ”RSU-2510”."
Could someone run me down exactly what that means?
