Because LED costs significantly more ;)
nah, not that expensive, if you get LED, not only you will get at least 3x better colors, you'll also be saving money, you will probably cover the extra cost of the LED by saving power from it
False. In some cases, LED draws an almost equal amount of power as CCFL, and sometimes even more. This is due to more complex electronic circuits powering the LED lights. Reviews should be checked, specced power ratings (kind of), and power draw at the wall. Trust me when I say that ONLY RGB LED (not the crappy white LED) holds a fight to CCFL in high-end applications. White LEDs are cheaper for the manufacturer and apparently more expensive to the consumer. Don't you notice ALL the professional computer monitors using IPS panels (NEC, Eizo, HP, Dell) use CCFL? And I'm not talking about old models. I'm talking about new ones. Go with what looks best, and not seems best, concerning TVs.
I also advise you to look up the type of panel the TV is using...I got a Hyundai 425D 42" LCD for $200-300 less than Samsungs and Sonys (Samsung more) which use the SAME (same) panel...the only difference would be a slight difference in black levels (still the Hyundai is rather EXCELLENT in black levels), and of course feature differences (trust me, the Hyundai is rather stacked with features)...but please don't make me lose the Bravia Engine hahahahaha (sarcasm)
