You've mentioned before that you're a fresh grad, so I wouldn't worry about language-specific questions and just focus on getting the programming basics down right.
element^n doesn't have any PHP work, the main languages are Java/javascript, just so you know what you're getting into beforehand. But again syntax specific stuff shouldn't be an issue [a good programmer can learn a new language very easily, a crappy programmer will never master anything beyond the basic concepts].
I had no idea there even was a technical exam -- and definitely no idea whats on it -- so this isn't specific advice, but I'd rank these as the basics of any entry level job. Know your data structures, when to use what and why [most companies will let you choose the language you answer data structure related questions to, the basic concept is language-agnostic]; Know the most common patterns and when/why each is used; Know how to think about an algorithm, sussing out the big-O of different methods to help you determine your pick; Know your OO and how to think in OO [I've heard PHP is now rather OO friendly but it hasn't always been, so you might want to re-aquaint yourself with the basics]; Know some db basics [again, concepts not syntax - when/why JOIN, avoiding deadlocks...]; The one concept I think you might not really be aware of with a PHP background and not a Java one would be how a web application works: servlets, webapp, container: it might be a nice bonus to understand the structure/logic [it isn't that tough really!]
Good luck, let us know how it goes.
thanks a lot vic i was thinking the exact thing, to review my OO, database mainly joins, and review Java web architecture...
@Xterm, i dont want to fool interviews/testers like i said, i was looking for the type of questions mainly i was interested in knowing if any math/financial questions are at hand so that i would prepare myself since i heard that murex has both math and financial...
i mainly just want to sharpen my skills before the exam...
