Hi Geeks! Greetings -

I've been thinking about couple of ideas, but didn't have anyone to share them with. I am happy I joined here so I can post to you guys.

The past year, I saw in Lebanon a huge HUGE growth in the Mobile segment.. Companies like foo, eurisko, App2u, Dermandar... are launching apps for phone and android on monthly basis. Unfortunately, those apps come, stay for a week, then start disappearing from the app store because of low downloads and few reviews.

Why don't we encourage our fellow Lebanese, get in touch with them, download their apps, write good reviews and spread the word. As much as we can!

here's some of the apps:

Movies Lebanon
Tells you all about the latest movies in the Lebanese theatres.
Developed by FOO SAL

Beirut Airport
Gives you the latest flights details
Developed by FOO SAL

Le Mall
Informs you about the latest offers/shops.. in Le Mall
Developed by Apps2you

Dermandar
Excellent Photo app. Allows you to capture photos from the device then it links them automatically as a panoramic view.
Developed by Dermandar company.

Taxi Lebanon
Gives you a list of all the Taxi companies and car rentals in Lebanon
Developed by Apps2you

last but not least, Birdy nam nam is an iOS game developed by us (me and 2 guys) we're currently doing an update for it and need bright ideas, designers and developers.. get in touch ya'll!! (www.birdynamnamgame.com)
Hi Leb,
First of, there should be a clear Seperation between Professional applications and tests.

Some tests take time and effort but the end result is a test or a demo, and birdy nam nam seems it is just a small demo developed to test how to submit to the appstore.

Movies Lebanon, Beirut airport, Le Mall, Taxi Lebanon: are informative applications designed
to feature some kind of functionality requested by a client.

The only app that is worth mentioning here is Dermandar, the Team behind it did a very good job in terms in technology and end product.

So in the end, we are still far behind any kind of competition, and the HUGE grow you are talking about is still minimal and if you know a team that can actually produce some kind of quality product, I would gladly hire them.
Hi ZeRaW,

Thanks for your reply.

I agree with what you're saying.. definitely Dermandar is a great work! genius people behind it

I will not comment on nam nam or the other apps.. but my post tends to encourage Lebanese to download those apps because they were made by LEBANESE. regardless what is the nature, if they are nice or not...etc.

Please re read my post and let me know if my message in the post was misguiding!

As for the growth, I am not comparing Lebanon to Japan or the US. I was stating that in Lebanon, we had a GROWTH. and I don't agree that we're very far behind.. we started with baby steps, and definitely will move fast in the coming years - stay optimistic man!

ps: yeah i know a good developer (Android) f you're interested.

cheers
L
