I am in the process of buying a new car. my budget is 10-12K$
Audi TT and Toyota Celica are 2 nice cars within my budget. which one would you get? y?
do you recommend any other car ?
Edit: also add BMW 323 coupe mod 2000

for 10-12K$ the TT or Celica you will buy 'bi koun ma7rou2 nafasa'. I think Toyota parts are way cheaper than Audi's, the TT is a nicer looking car though

Hehe, you remind me of myself. I had the same budget, and wanted to get an Audi TT as well. Read a lot about it, and many reviews says how fun it is to drive one. However, that's not what I bought at the end.
The car I got was Toyota Yaris 2007.
There are two main reasons for my decision:
1- Audi TT might have the looks, but Audi parts aren't that cheap, so anything that goes wrong with the car will cost a bit to fix as far as I heard.
2- Audi TT is mainly 2 seats, unless your friends are midgets no one can sit at the back seats.
The 2 seats will do good if it was only you and your girfriend/fiance/wife, but if you have friends, it will be something you want to stay away from, unless they got their own cars.

First, the place where you wrote your topic is completely wrong.
Second, Audi TT are known to stay at garages and have very expensive parts. Instead get a Seat Leon in that price unless you need a 2 seater. Toyota is a bit nice but is also very Wazwaz nowadays.

Honestly NoUser,
I would go for a 2001 -> 2004, BMW 325.

Please tell me why Toyotas are as you said "wazwaz"?
You meant to talk about old BMW's who keep cruising around Manara playing wasouf out loud or the Golf 1 and 2 wazawiz.

toyota celica and audi tt are both chick cars, but celica looks sporty, cheap and available parts, and a strong engine. But good luck finding a good one, its veeery rare to find one with low milage and accidentless

There is a reason why the celica was discontinued

well as a conclusion:
audi tt is small (only 2 seats) and it's parts aren't cheap.
celica is good, but it looks "wazwaz" nowadays
bmw/wasouf is also not a good choice....
now am really lost:P

How about throwing another car into the mix: a mini cooper? They aren't as many here as I thought there would be and my friends abroad both male and female absolutely love that car. It is small enough to get you around the city and allow you to find parking spaces and can get you up to the mountains without a problem.
In addition, it comes in both 2 and 4 door versions and very customizable.

picanto 2012 .. amazing mileage..full options..looks nice and preppy ..warranty..free assurance....you know gas isn't cheap nomore...or maybe check a seat ibiza..or a 2001-2004 Golf GTi
for bigger cars u better stick with a bmw 320 or a mercedes 230

This I agree.

the lebanese car market is a joke; monotonous showrooms filled with cars your average Joe would buy (ie. BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Honda) - no offence. There's no variety and prices are absolutely ridiculous. It sure took me a while to find my Alfa Romeo 156!
anyway, I would recommend an Audi TT over a Toyota Celica. Toyotas are reliable, there's no denying that. However, you don't get the quality feel the Audi gives you in a Toyota. Regarding the 'TTs always at the mechanic' issue, Audis are cars for enthusiasts, again not for your average Joe. When handled properly, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. My brother drives an Audi A3 - 1.8T/150PS engine shared with base model TTs - and has proven to be quite reliable, as the car gets serviced at a proper Audi mechanic. Parts wise, I believe there are more parts available in Lebanon for Audi TTs than Toyota Celicas. Performance cars need premium 'performing' parts, you should expect that - no matter what the car is, mind you.
there's my two cents.

I agree with a Seat Ibiza ... my brother had it and he NEVER had any major problem with it
its fast fun to drive(i have driven it), can hold up to 8 speakers
its cheap but doesn't look cheap doesn't consume a lot of gas and its just very good
the only reason he sold it because he got bored of it and he wanted a Mercedes ML
