if you own an HTC Sensation or planning to buy a new one and worried about the WiFi death grip this is the solution:
Go to WIFI settings--touch the menu button --Advanced--Change the WIFI sleep policy to Never.
And another thing will boost the signal but will cause battery drain is to check a box called Best WIFI Performance.
here it is and good bye to death grip.

i did try it and it really helps. over all i didnt have problems with sensation's wifi performance and i even did a test between my old galaxy s and the sensation i found out the sensation signal is better
