  • Xbox RROD and PS3 Jailbreak ?

Hi , I have a few questions :
What is the current Xbox 360's prices ? (elite and normal edition )
What is the current PS3 's price ?
How to buy an xbox360 without the fear of having RROD ?
What's with the PS3 Jailbreak? and does it affect the hardware? and if I jailbreak and i get problems is there a way to restore it ?
Where to buy both of these consoles in Lebanon for the best price and what about the warranty ?
Ps3 Jailbreak,
Only affects the software (No need for a chip).
If you jailbreak correctly you won't have any problems.
However the jailbreak only works for ps3 that have software of 3.55 and lower. If the ps3 software is >3.55 there's no current jailbreak. Keeping this in mind, new games that requires software >3.55 will not work.
(some of the games that are >3.55 are getting patched to work with 3.55 but not all of them)

After jailbreaking you can at any time return to the official firmware. But if you go to an official firmware above 3.55 you will not be able to jailbreak again (for the time being). (you can at all times switch between CFW 3.55 and OFW 3.55)

Don't pay anyone to jailbreak for you, just check this thread.

In case you got a ps3 and decided to jailbreak, note that the tutorial is a bit outdated, just use the newest multiman
V2.01.00 and a file called BDEMU2 instead of BDEMU.
idk about prices but RROD is fixed in the new gen consoles with the Jasper chip, which means if you buy a new console now it'll have this chip and youdont have to worry about RROD.
I suggest getting a PS3 and buying games at full price or second hand, its about time this thinking starts to spread in lebanon because developers are NOT people who work for free.

I really like this "ethical" debate why are we supposed to pay EA et al a ridiculous amount for a game knowing that they overwork their programmers, I mean why should we be ethical when it comes to us dealing with these companies, but why is it ok for these companies to not treat their employees the same ?
xbox 360 seems less trouble, if you're really worried about rrod you can mod the console by adding small fans on the heatsinks, but you have to open it up which will probably void warranty, though you shouldn't have a problem, if it goes rrod during warranty just take t back, if warranty is over, you probably added fans and it will never give you the ring of death anyway, here is an interesting link you can take a look to compare graphics of both ps3 and xbox360

wow Who said anything about EA ?
Besides..They dont have any good games
Talking about indie devs, ubisfot and especially Valve/Steam...and even if they charge 60$ you have the choice to buy it or not and I want to disagree with the EA not treating their employees in a good way:

I 2nd what ac1d said about this.

I try to get my games as legit as possible. I work, so I should pay for the developer's time & effort put into making a game. no matter on what platform it is, or who is the developer behind it. I dont have to buy the game at 60$ or 70$ I can wait for it to get cheaper. Besides I mostly get my games digitally.
