rolf wroteMost directories are drwxr-xr-x and most files are -rw-r--r--.
Do you know which are the directories for which you changed permissions?
For stuff in your home directory, the above permissions look reasonable for directories (drwxr-xr-x, 755) and files (-rw-r--r--, 644).
If you want to know what directories you've altered recently, try this:
cat ~/.bash_history | grep chmod
The output should help you remember what changes you made.
