Hello, everyone. We've been throwing in snippets every now and then, concerning opening a new store. Well, it's done, but not fully. We need you help.
We are going to order a bunch of sample products in 2 days, and they will be here express-shipped in 5 days. We want your feedback. We're going for a new cool store. It won't cheap, but it won't overprice either. We're going for a cool-geeky sort of thing. So, what's on your mind?

What exactly will be available there?
Depends on stuff... sometime things is geeky, but useless.
It is difficult to find anything else than crappy Inno3D. But not my case now :-)
Get some cool things that geeky guys can present to their gf's.
Make frontend for online goods booking(complete online shop not easy in Leb i guess) and for example online chatting/or at least some online (not realtime, but fast) with shop manager.
Make RSS for your new arrivals, so we can track new stuff and offers over RSS reader :-)

Here's what i can think of:
- Make sure that whomever is dealing with your customers, is quite technical and does not blurt out non-sense. Probably the best thing you could do is ensure that your staff know when to redirect to another staff member.
- The express shipping is important, are you keeping that as well? Would be great to get things fast.

Congratulations for your new store.
I agree with the ideas of the posters above.
Also would like to add a few ideas concerning stuff that i cant find any of it here.
-A good selection of Video Card brands would be great at fair prices of-course.
-Some PC accessories that we cant find here (not even pcandparts) like: Cooling Fans brands like Zalman,
Coolermaster, Noctua, Rosewill, Vantec, Scythe etc...
-Antec, Coolermaster, rosewill, LIAN LI, Corsair PC cases.
-More PSU brands not found here like Antec, Corsair and OCZ.
-Mouse and Keyboards, Razer and Logitech brands.
- Onkyo Home audio systems at good prices (found some at double the price here), Some AV recievers example the ONKYO HT-RC360 7.2-Channel Home Theater Receiver.
-Software including OS and PC Games and maybe some PS3 and Xbox 360 games (all Legit)

I agree with all of the above. It would also be nice if you could update us with what's coming up. For example, if you plan on getting a certain model of graphics cards. Or better yet, if we can order certain products.
My main frustration with places like PC & Parts is that you never know when or even if they are going to get a product. I have been waiting for a while to build a new system but I refuse to use a mechanical drive and want an SSD. Unfortunately, the current SSDs they carry are really old and expensive. In addition, there is no possible way to determine if they are ever going to get new SSDs. My only option is to refresh their product page every few days.

Is it a regular computer parts store or does is have an electronics department? (please say yes, and that you'll bring in cool SMD parts and some hard-to-find electronics from Digikey *dreaming about the possibilities*)

Electronics will be an expansion add-on. Right now, just computer parts. We are already throwing in tons of money to make a very simple change, which unfortunately, most people won't even know of. Corsair and OCZ are on our list, so is Alienware. We need products names and series. Come on, people. Throw in some hot suggestions about PRODUCTS. The way we're going to do business is something else. Yes, we'll be different in our treatment, but let's focus on the products for this discussion. No products = nothing to talk about in the store, right?

I don't know much about product names,but in this country,most people need something good and cheap.
Idea:make a website,and update it regularly,that will help people that can't visit the shop easily.

Killer dude, we totally appreciate the business mechanism. It's the products we're worried about. Come on, dig in deep. What peripheral or part do you crave but can't find or find cheap?

What i am trying to say your store will be rated excellent as long as you have the latest components even if you didnt sell them like hot cakes but your reputation as a store will be unique, think about it how many stores do we have here in lebanon but they all lack the latest products and the most important part is the price if you want your store be the nb one in lebanon like pcandparts.com for example its the price of these latest products.
And dont forget to make a working website with latest news/products everyday unlike some websites.
And finally dont forget the gaming solution, business solution, graphic designer, multimedia pc's etc.. offer as many options as you can, dont be focused on one thing like home users for example.
What about laptops ? you didnt mention them, i think they are important as the others too.
Lastly servers offer servers.
But before all of these its the customer care/service if you dont make it your nb 1 priority trust me you wont be happy.

heres a service that no store offers: lets say I want to upgrade my vga, but I want to sell mine first because its gotta be worth 80$ since the new is worth 150$, and I want to buy a new vga worth 300$, offer a service that buys my vga for 80$ and I pay 220$ over it and get the new vga... there is no store that offers that, you would be the first one...

Well, this is a shock. We thought you guys knew what you wanted. Looks like we're going to blow it form the start, as all you guys are thinking of are business-related procedures. We need products to sell. The rest are called services.

Jajoja, we cannot sell using prices as low as pcandparts', mainly because we have a showroom and staff, and aftersales support, both you can't find at pcandparts. But we will be cheaper than the market, I'd say.
Nemesis-301, there is not a store in the world that does that. Very sorry.
People, we have a chance to do something different. PLEASE, stop suggesting services and shop-behaviors. Stick to products.

The thing is you didn't actually specify what kind of store you are opening. For-say, is it dedicated strictly to general PC hardware? tablets and smartphones? videogame consoles and software? Detail what kind of store you have in your mind so that we can help out.

maybe you could get a variety of core 2 duo and quad core cpu's since pcandparts have just 2 types of core 2 duo's and no quad cores...
