  • Compromised data from Sony's Networks have been released!

The infamous LulzSec have released the databases to the public but it seems that the passwords are hashed.
This is just BS because i couldn't find an explanation for this, the damage is not only on Sony but also the users/consumers.

Note: I will post the link but you access it at your own responsibility/risk. HERE

UPDATE: Hackers steal more customer info from Sony servers (Via cnet)
Getting the information was not that complex, Lulzsec claims. The group said it gained access to SonyPictures.com with a single SQL injection.
Explanation for this?

"Sony has increasingly become the target of hackers over the last few months [.......] as supposed retribution for Sony's legal suit against George Hotz, who had been helping others jailbreak their PlayStation 3 consoles."

To be honest, I'm not that upset of what they are going through, on the contrary, serves them right, they should learn from Apple and let things go.
They only sued the guy because he released the private keys in public something that even hackers said he shouldn't have done. He could have released them anonymously.
No, they shouldnt let things go because the PS3 is not a Personal Computer or a notebook. Sony added the Other OS feature, and they got spoiled on using it.

I think my point of view is clear but Sony has a solution, create a special place on PS Store for something like Xbox Live Indie Games but open source. This will certainly gain a lot of audience not only from the open source market but also casual and hardcore gamers. It should be under certain framework and using specific opensource engines.
This is getting boring. On the other hand, a good opportunity for Sony to solidify it's security, and for everyone to learn lessons.
Eventually we'll need a dedicated forum section for Sony news.
Yeah, but i hope this doesn't happen. (the way i understood your post)
