I bought 2 new machines yesterday night, and was playing around with rendering times.
My personal workstation:
2xXeon E5520
6x2Gb ECC Corsaire CAS:7 @ 1066
Max Tc: 52 C (cooled with dual ISGC-300)
Test Render Time 10:6
My new test machines
1xi7-2600 (3.4Ghz)
2x4Gb Kingston CAS: 9 @ 1333
Max Tc: 53 C (cooled with standard intel cooler)
Test Render Time 12:01
Now playing around with a i7-2600K, testing the OC capability. will post the result of the test render time once i get it stable :)

4.0Ghz easy with good cooling

got it stable @ 4.5Ghz, max TC: 73 C and idle @ 37 C
Not going to go above that for now. might even decrease it a bit since i wont be the one to use it right now.
Rendering time took 9:16 :)
