  • Unlock SE Xperia X10 on MTC Touch

I Bought 4 unlock codes(65$) online for my Xperia X10 but they won't work after entering them on my mtc touch line
searched all the posts but couldn't find anything related to the subject.

I searched for Setool, but they said that the unlock is not yet supported!

Can Anyone help me please?!
don't know much about unlocking, but try these
-use a custom rom.
-ask about this in xda forums.
-go to a phone shop (star cell @ mar il yees can unlock phones)

good luck.
searched for custom Rom but it doesn't Unlock the phone.
might it be possible that it won't work here in lebanon?
do you know how much does it costs if it can be unlocked?

thanks man
Dude what you do is call the provider At&t or wichever provider the phone is locked to, give them the IMEI number and they'll give you the unlock code.

Don't forget to mention that you are in Lebanon in the middle east and that you can't use the phone and that you got it as a gift from your uncle.

I've done this with two AT&T locked LG phones.

For the price of a 12 minutes international call.
well I don't know exactly for how much, and I lost their phone number...but I will search for it
I Went to a phone shop and asked the person inside to unlock my phone

He said It will cost 70$!!

is that a normal Price For unlocking phones ?
I don't really know, but since your in Lebanon it might be normal. :P
Haha, 100%

does rooting the phone give it a lot of bonus stuff?
or just Rom Tweaking ?
Yes,it give you the control of all your phone, just like being an admin. in windows 7,and the best part is that Google have no problems rooting your device, here is the list of what you can do:

-You can overclock or underclock your phone

-You can add/remove stuff from the device memory

-Change ROMS

-recovery images

-Add themes

-Backup installed apps

and much more!
Aha!!

I Can Root Without Flashing Right?

Because if i flashed My X10i to froyo 2.2 since it's not yet Officially Out for my phone ,

the Timescape, Mediascape and Camera Options Will Be Lost!

What's the benefits of flashing anyways?

I Downloaded latest SE Flashtool From XDA forums but haven't used it yet,

can you advise me from your personal experience please :)

Thank you
9 days later
Went To 3 Cellphone Shops , and no one was able to unlock My Xperia X10!

I Think My Last Hope Is CLASS

any Advice Please...

Hey DeeJayHooz, I own an X10 too, it's a decent device if you can know how to handle it.
Anyway about unlocking I can't help you so much, but you can search some forums like xda or modaco.

And about rooting, I think it's a must, your device will be like 2X faster and way too smooth (when installing Custom Froyo ROM), even if you want to run 2.1 custom ROM, they still have implemented JIT, thus it's faster than the 2.1 stock, and you still can keep the Timescape (You can flash it anytime you want using xRec); Mediascape is pretty useless you can use Android Gallery. It's highly advised to root, install xRecovery (it's like built in flashtool in your X10, and GREAT tool), and flash some custom ROMs.

This is my daily Froyo ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945264

Don't forget to read carefully and understand the whole process, it's pretty easy once you get used to it and there is lots of guides do your research.

Thank You Silverbox Very Much for your help,
as soon as I Get my phone back from the shop I will start the Rooting and Flashing processes
but I Just Have One more question:
Sony Ericsson said on their Blog site that during Q2 or Q3 this year they will launch the 2.3 gingerbread update for X10
so can I Update After Flashing or Rooting?
OR I Have To Flash the Stock Rom Back?
Thanks
You can update normally using SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service), no need for flashing the stock ROM again
Great ,
Thanks :D
