Awesome. MrClass, I'm not one to care much about sound, and I can't spare the space to get decent surround. Would some decent Bose headset benefit from the sound card? Otherwise, how about dropping the sound card and reallocating the cost to CPU or Memory?

Spending that much I would have gone for one of these babies. But pcandparts haven't got them :(

With the remaining 1.2k you can still make a sweet system, just be sure to get a graphics card that can actually power it :)

If I had the money, I'd buy that. Keep in mind that pc and parts prices are "fuck it" when it comes to graphics cards. Also the sound cards are meh at best, for example the ASUS XONAR DG 5.1 is no where to be found.

Ninja edit: The power supply might be a little bit underpowered, all of the 800w ++ are NA at pc and parts.

Stay away from ASUS products (i have some bad experience with ASUS boards)
Seagate hybrid or 2TB WD FAEX does not beat 2x 1TB WD FAEX in RAID 0
Intel boards offer very limited overclocking potential
SLI for now is not needed, a single 580GTX can run any game you need on 1920x1080 resolution
the HAFX case offers lots of space, it is a large case, air flow is perfect, cpu/board/gpu will have plenty of cool air
16 GB of RAM is pretty useless, even 12GB is more than enough. 8GB is good as well but you wont use the full triple channel potential
Gigabyte UD6 has dual bios, a must feature for any motherboard
Kingston Standard versus Patriot Viper => Patriot Viper wins hands down
