It's not his fault , it should have been a free kick for Madrid , let's say if a player accidentally hit another one , it's foul even if he doesn't have the ball , the rules say , that these kind of fouls cannot be made , i don't think CR7 made it on purpose , but it's a foul , he shouldn't have given the advantage from the first place , that is what the rule book says , now if mascherano was going to reach Higuain i don't know , but it would have made Higuauin's run way harder and slower , and this i don't know , the ref blew the whistle before the goal entered the net ? Because Valdes had stopped before higuain shot the ball?

Xserver, in the video I saw, Pepe did NOT even TOUCH Alves. The picture the you've provided shows the contrary. You can say that either, the picture or the video has been manipulated (as geeks we know that we have the technology to). Yet, the Pepe not touching alves video has been presented by international media as I posted earlier, not posted on imageshack.us . You choose to believe that he has been tackled and I choose to believe that he has NOT been tackled. and either ways most reviewers did agree that even if it was a tackle, it should have been a yellow card at most. but alves spiced it with the 'barca' using his acting skills and made the referee think that his career has ended at that moment, and pushed him to red PEPE. Prolly the referee didn't know that Alves will board the pitch in 3 mins, or maybe he did...
Won't talk about the Ronaldo-Mascherano thingie, already been discussed. On a side note though, I just LOVE that the name of the picture is 'masch-dive'.

Stand up, extend your leg like Dani was, and try and turn 360 degrees by yourself and then tell me if you can do it.

Given Pepe's roughness all game long, the straight RED was very very fair. Plus, Dani's leg does not need to be broken for a RED to be fair. Flying with your leg extended like is enough to get a RED especially since it is Pepe who is known for this kind of dirty moves. If Dani did not rotate like this, all the tackle's energy would have been applied to one point on his leg, and it would have been broken.

If you need his leg to be broken to give him RED card, then you are not being fair at all and you have not read the latest directives from the UEFA to the refs.

As for Mascherano and like the picture shows, Ronaldo did land on him. We all know Mascherano is no diver and he would have continued to recover the ball, but he couldn't.

Well let me tell you something, if a person committed 100 fouls that did not need a card, these fouls won't all combine to a red card. you say pepe's roughness, i say barca's diving (although there has been fouls made by Pepe, but barca player do make the best of it). your analysis is your personal opinion, obviously. What I said in my previous post regarding the call IS what other specialized sports analyst/commentators/reviewers have said.

that's laughable, honestly. Mascherano was the diving diva in the last classico, please.. watch the game again or something, cause he really did out-busqueted busquets.
Now regarding that youtube link that you've posted, I can not watch youtube vids at work, but it's prolly about real players diving? Probably Di Maria even?
Yeap, we've got divers in RM. Di maria is a master in diving, sometimes CR7 dive as well. Every team in the world HAS divers. The difference is the acting that follows the dive, you know.. the lies. Di maria dives, if the ref didn't call it he stands up again. Whereas barca's diving queens linger on the ground, rolls over, fake a tear and even peek to make sure the other guy gets carded (Biscuits vs inter anyone?). That all while his team mates make sure to circle around the ref and nag. If they only dive it would have been understandable. It is really disgusting.. I am looking forward to watch the final. The world's best divers against the leading team in the world's most physical league. This will be interesting. I expect 20 dives, 4 yellow to MU, 2 red cards to MU.

When a player keeps fouling, the ref usually warns him orally. If he keeps doing it excessively, he will get a yellow for frequently fouling and if he's flying with his leg extended, he does not need to break someone's leg to deserve a RED.

I am not denying that Pedro and Busquets dove in these occasions, and that Dani milked it, but RM deserved many reds in the first and second leg and got away with it. Especially Adebayor! So if I were a real fan, I would not complain.

You want Pedro and Busquets, suspended. SURE! But that will mean Carvalho, Pepe, Adebayor and Diara.

BTW, the video is about all the types of dives Ronaldo does. Just watch it when you get home. It's pretty educational especially for the sniper shot one.

Are you a physicist? Nope. You only watched the game 3000 miles away, as I did. You say it is a straight RED (he didn't have a yellow at first) and I say it's a yellow at max. we won't be changing each other's opinion anytime soon.

No I am not kidding you, I know what I said. I looked it up too. You've got a foul, a foul with oral, foul with yellow, foul with red. 100 fouls don't cumulate to a single red, if so, he would have carded him with a yellow every 3 committed fouls.

You did not answer the previous issue that I have pointed out in my previous post. I am not talking about DIVING only. barca players do not solely DIVE, they fake injury to get the other player carded, isn't that called.. umm.. lying? isn't that called cheating? What makes you more furious is that it contradicts with barca's slogan. 'Barca, not just a team'.. It contradicts with the image that most people have. They act all kind and elegant off field, Guartdiola acting all polite and such.. and then you see these kind of lies. you can't say that alves milked it, he acted his a$$ off. The ref took his time to card pepe.. watch the replay. After seeing alves rolling over and 9 barca players thronging him, he pulled it out.
Carvalho was the most aggressive in the last classico, Pepe didn't play am not sure why you even mentioned his name, Adebayor committed fouls and Diara was the man of the match, most of his tackles were legit but your barca eyes prolly saw it differently.

Let me take you back to the CDR classico. Mascherano tackled Xabi THE SAME tackle that Pepe attempted on Alves. Mascherano had his studs up same as pepe. But did alves moan and roll over the ground to get him carded? please watch it again. People didn't even notice that shot because Xabi didn't fake an injury and cry.

I did not watch the video, I don't need educational vids, as I did confess that Ronaldo dives as well. Plus, a couple of busquets screen shots are enough for me to learn everything about the art of diving.

ramito is right, the matches are over. As for us, leb fans. We will NEVER convince each other so discussing it is just useless. Whatever I say won't change your perspective and you won't change mine. total waste of energy. that's why am unsubscribing from this thread.

Pedro and Busquets did dive and they deserve yellows, but their diving did not change the game like Marcelo's dive in La Liga which awarded RM a penalty.

It's all equaling out at the end if you sum thing up.
