Hi,I wanna build my own PC,I have a budget of 650$...and I wont get the parts until summer,so I have enough time to decide on which part should i get etc..I searched PCandParts.com,and saw some pc parts and read reviews about them, here they are:
-MoBo:Intel DH67CL
-Processor:intel i5-2400
-RAM: 2*2Gb DDR3
-HDD:Western Digital 1TB WD1002FAEX
-VGA:Inno3D Geforce GT430 2GB DDR3
So,what do you think guys?I need my PC for gaming,I'am open for suggestions. :)
btw,my current PC specs are:
-CPU:Intel core2duo e4600 2.4Ghz
-VGA:point of view nvidia geforce 9500Gt 512
-RAM:4gig DDR2
I want to sell it when I get my new PC,anyone knows for how much it worth?
jsaade
what kind of gaming?
for 650$ you cannot enjoy really full graphics especially games that require high end graphics cards.
get a console for gaming and a pc for everything else.
omar_killer
not for hardcore gaming..I want to play new games, but it doesn't matter if the settings are on medium
vic
The
LogicalIncrememnts PC Buying Guide is pretty good and exhaustive.
You'll have to compare prices with PCandParts though, these are based mostly off newegg I believe.
omar_killer
thanks vic,i'll take a look at it.

hi,omar.. I agree with Zeraw about getting a console for games and a PC for everything else . I am too a Pc gamer and want the best to play my games on high settings but to achieve this, you need to pay too much money because every time they release a new game , you will need a better graphic card and a better system and better overall performance from your computer. Your to-be computer is quite good BUT : Inno3D Geforce GT430 2GB DDR3 is not a good card for gaming because it has low CUDA cores and it's performance is very limited and plus, it is used mainly for Blu-ray Movies and photo viewing in addition to video playing and poorly for gaming . Believe me , if you get this PC you are building , you are staying in the same place you are because Ram are identical somehow and graphic card is a bit bit more powerful from than your 9500gt.
I wanted to buy a Geforce these days but then i thought that after one week , it would be old and my budget was about maxim. 200$ ( Nvidia GTX 460 SE ) and that was still not good for these upcoming games.
Just buy a console ( Xbox 360 Pro for 280$) and play your games on HD without having headache from computer games.
If you want help with computers and graphic cards, feel free to message me .

thanks thegodfatherdany :)
well,I had a ps3,but the PS3's bluray disks are still expensive,I know about the crack thing...and I don't have an LCD tv yet,so I sold it
as for the xbox,it have the RLOD,and nobody I know have it,so I don't think it's that popular
and if you look at my PC specs, you'll find it old,so at both ways I need to upgrade my PC...as for the video cards,do you recommend ATi video cards, since they are cheaper,so please recommend me a good video card but a cheap one (about 200$ max. maybe?)
again,thx for your help :)

If you are willing to stay on a computer, i recommend you XFX Radeon HD 5830 1GB DDR5 Dual w/TV ($195.00)... Even if it's very close to your budget, it's performance is very very impressive and you'll be very happy to own it. As for the Xbox, i think you can fix it ( costs 80$ i think) and the most common problem for this to happen is because of the poor ventilation offered to your console in the area . Maybe hitting a fan to the Xbox while being operated could decrease the risk of the RLOD. Good LUCK! and welcome!

Even with the new release of ATI Video cards like the Radeon HD 6470, 6570, 6670, 6790,
http://www.pcandparts.com still isn't selling such cards. You might be well off waiting a bit and seeing the prices, or getting a GTX 460 for less than $200 if you want a nice video card. Overclock the card and approach GTX 470 speeds. Or get the Radeon HD 6790 if you want a nice ATI card and is cheaper than $200 here in Lebanon.
omar_killer
ok thanks guys :)
I will take a look at the Radeon HD 6790 or Radeon HD 5830.

That's a total myth, yes my friend, hardware is always getting updated, just like smartphones these days, but that doesn't mean if there's something new in the market you have to go out and grab it or else your outdated. Totally not! I bought my graphics card 3 years ago for $130 and there's no game I cant play, even the newest titles I can pull decent framerates at 720p resolution.
@Omar
Regarding the PC your building, yes just like thegodfatherdany told you, dont get a gt430, its a low end card. Get yourself a HD 5770 or the HD 5830, and your good to go for at least 3 years if your aiming for medium settings. Good luck!
omar_killer
thanks MegaCool :)
I worried about updating video cards, since they are expensive and every week something new comes out.
I wanted to buy the Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850 for 247$
but now you told me about the HD 5770,(Sapphire Radeon HD5770 FleX edition) for 207$
and have better specs.

I believe it's quite possible to get a decent gaming pc if you can extend the 650 to 750 and assuming you don't need monitor, keyboard, mouse, dvd. Although these would sum up to about 100-120$ only, I think you will need every dime you can spare to up your graphics card, memory, processor.
Here's a quick listing I picked up from PC and Parts.
2.93 GHz - i7-870 8M/LGA1156 $282.00
Kingston DDR3-1333 4gb x2 $104.00
Intel DH55PJ w/VGA+Sound+SATA+1GB Lan&PCI Express(DDR3) Supports LGA1156 CPUs $87.00
Full ATX Case For P4 $32.00
WD 320GB 7200RPM S-ATAII $38.00
Inno3D Geforce GTX 460 768MB DDR5 Dual w/TV $259.00
Summing to 800$, though it's a little bit over what you need.
omar_killer
yes,I already have those stuff, and I've read that the most important part of a gaming PC is a video card,so it's the most component that i'am investing money in it.
another question,is it better to get 2 2gb RAM sticks,or 1 4gb RAM stick?
xterm
I have no idea. I usually go for 2x2 because if one ever fails atleast you can use the other meanwhile until you replace :D
-
So i went over PC and Parts and pulled some high end crap based on price:
CPU : 3.4 GHz - i7-2600K 8M/LGA1155 $338.00
Memory : Patriot PX7312G2000ELK Viper Xtreme Triple Channel DDR3 12GB (3 x 4GB) PC3-16000 (2000MHz) Enhanced Latency Kit Link for $262.00
Mobo :Intel DP67BG w/Sound+SATA+1GB Lan+Firewire+Raid+PCIe+WIFI& Bluetooth Adapter -Full ATX (DDR3) (LGA1155) ( NEW VERSION ) $188.00
Case : ThermalTake VH4001BNS DH104/BK/ALU w/ LCD 7'' TOUCH $685.00
Harddrive : Intel X25-M SSDSA2CW160G3K5 2.5" 160GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) w/ 3.5" Adapter included $355.00
Sound :Creative SB X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series PCIe $185.00
Graphics : Sapphire Radeon HD5870 2GB DDR5 Eyefinity Toxic edition $595.00
Total : ~2650$
I wants!
omar_killer
hahaha lol! :P
what a gaming rig! :P
that's hell lot of power!
so,as you suggested in your previous post,it's a very good gaming rig with a great price, but don't you think that the i7 is a bit high for my needs?
let's say that i'll get the i5 2400 (i'am not an overclocking freak) and i will use my old case(it's a P4 case),get only 4gb RAM,and upgrade it in the future,I wanted a mobo with a usb 3.0 ports so I might take the Intel DH67CL...
price?
Intel DH67CL 106$
i5 2400 $195
Kingston DDR3-1333 4gb $52
WD 320GB 7200RPM S-ATAII $38.00
Inno3D Geforce GTX 460 768MB DDR5 Dual w/TV $259.00
--->650$! (T.V.A not included) so i might get a better processor and I'am good to go.
as for the budget I have,it might be less or more than 700$ so things might change.
thanks for your help! :)

Why do u guys go for intel mobos? i mean, not to hijack the thread or anything, but Gigabyte is the shit IMO. I used to be an intel "fan" until i once went by mistake for gigabyte. Its a much more heavy duty build, the packaging is awesome, you get tons of accessories and cables and PCI expansion cards, and the price is most of the time cheaper than intel too!
EDIT: just checked out PCandParts, they dont seem to have a Gigabyte in the same range as what you are looking for :/
omar_killer
yes,I saw that Gigabyte mobos are better built and have much better specs (and prettier :P)
I won't get all my hardware from PCandParts,I will get the CPU,GPU,RAM
and if there are specific parts that aren't available in PCandParts, then I will get them from the hardware store.
EDIT:what about the price,do PCandParts have much better prices or the same?
don't forget that the 10%T.V.A is not included, nor the shipping.

xterm dude, if you want to purchase that rig, why are you aiming for the most expensive and less efficient graphic card at the same time. You can still get the Gigabyte GV-R697D5-2GD-B HD6970 2GB DDR5 Dual for $474, which is faster than the HD5870.

(I'm not purchasing that rig by the way, as i mentioned i just skimmed and pulled out the most expensive)
