Issues with some websites

Hello guys,

I'm not sure if anyone can help me figure out this, I've tried to contact the ISP support several times, but to no avail. I'm pretty sure it is not a problem with my computer since it used to work normally on my previous wireless connection before the ADSL. Not to mention it does the same thing over 3 PCs we got at home.

Anyways, the problem is that there are some websites that dont tend to work normally.

Like for example:

The website www.renaissancekingdoms.com (A browser game). It has a link to its forums once you log into the game. You enter the forums as already logged in (you cant access them if not logged in). So the problem is that, whenever I click on the link, it either redirects me to the log in screen, or after many tries it lets me in, and even after that any links inside the forum might throw me back to the log in screen. It never used to happen in my old non-ADSL connection.

Another example:

Everyone knows the famous Badoo website, right? Well, other than logging me out randomly (but rarely), another more annoying issue is when I click to see the picture, sometimes the picture shows up, other times it doesnt. I'd have to try so many times to get the picture to show.

There are few other websites that I know of that also have issues with logging in, but for example, I dont have issues with facebook, myspace, and these kind of websites.

I figured it is related to keeping sessions/cookies, but since my pc used to work normally on previous connection, might it be a router configuration?

There's really nothing no one here can do to help you. Contacting the ISP is not a bad idea, but I think that the best thing to do is to contact the website developers. Maybe you have stumbled upon some sort of bug.

Long story short, your problem may be on the website side.

Check whatismyip.com, maybe they have load-balancing setup, and external ip changes always. Some websites doesn't like that

That's exactly the reason, I have cyberia, and it happens to me on many forums

I did contact them several times over the phone, it was a bit hard to explain the situation, and so I contacted their support via email explaining it in details, but they never replied even though I resent it twice. I don't think it is a bug on the website side since the website worked normally on my old connection, and when I used to open them at work.

My old connection did have a fixed IP, and I did think of that as a reason causing the issue for sometime. Is there a solution to that other than paying more for a fixed IP ?

It is not a website bug, it is faulty balancing on Cyberia. On VISP i had shortly same issue, but i change way that cluster works, and such problem didnt appear anymore.

Isnt there a technical term to contact Cyberia with so that they can fix it?

Maybe, but as competing ISP i am not interested to fix their problem :-)
I just explain in short what is the issue and that it can be fixed.

lol I don't really care about Cyberia or any other ISP for that matter, I just want to get this working since it is annoying me =P. In fact, I would have changed to Ogero by now if it weren't for the half a month wait. But thanks for the slight info, at least now I'm sure it's their fault.

From what you wrote, I assume you work at VISP? I see they got almost no info about their DSL? And only in Beirut?

mmm i'm guessing it's because of the fake IP they assign to their customer. Well i don't have this problem with IDM, my problem was because Portford was not allowed. you van buy a very good VPS for 6$ a month, dedicated ip, very fast and download speed is almost the dame.

But soon we will do that, and i guess others wont be happy with that :-) Connection quality will be better than current wireless offers.

And sooooooooooo.... remember my problem?

I contacted Cyberia Support in an email telling them of what little info I had, after a week of no response, I called them back, and got the following answer:

"Use https instead of http for the websites that have such problems. This is mainly for security purpose, as you know we can't add all the websites."

I tried the https, but it returned nothing. Website not found.

If it's a problem with load balancing as nuclearcat says, then maybe it's that your IP is changing during the session (as your request is nandled by different, load-balanced servers). It's very bad practice by the ISP to change the IP of the client during the session. But it's also bad practice by the website to verify the IP of the client.
Try finding a "what's my IP" page on the web, and refresh it several times, and see if your IP changes from one request to the other that might be the problem.
To workaround the problem yourself, you migth want to try a CGI proxy or better setting up a tunnel.
Also make sure the issue is not from your browser/computer.
