DSL modem Linksys WAG54GS works with lebanese ISPS?

I am planning to bring this WAG54GS to use in Lebanon with an ADSL provider. I was wondering if it will work given that you can set PPPoE protocol manually on it.
Are most ADSL ISPs using this protocol or you are tied to buying a modem from them?

Well i think yes if it have on the wan setup a PPTP OR A PPPOE
