Okay geeks, i felt the need to reopen the subject of collaborative work among lebgeekers so here it goes.
Im doing this major project now, Its mainly a Large scale robot that is being manufactured to perfection.
Im funding everything regarding hardware. and will manufacture everything.
Hardware geeks around here are rare and they know themselves. I wont face any problem with communication between us hardware geeks.
The big part that needs a lot of collaborative work is the software.
The software portion can be either very simple or very complex, all is related to as much you are planning to push the envelope. The good thing about software collaboration is that it minimizes the number of meetings between us since software of course is not concrete.
I would have liked to elaborate more on this. I will, once i see enough positive feedback from the interested parties.
Ohh, and by the way. All the research in this project is aimed towards a specific goal. People who know me a lot can guess what it is. and people who are going to collaborate are definitely going to know at what this is aimed.
Lets see where this leads us.........

I never "developed" any applications, but I know all the programming essentials, with a lot of pluses. I know Java, but I am planning on picking up a couple of other languages this summer. I also know VHDL and assembly (MIPS and PIC) very well now after some hardware courses in AUB, in addition to digital design. Ill be glad to contribute even in a small or simple manner, and I am even more interested to learn from fellow geeks in the process, depending on the nature of the project of course.

what you need is people who have some experience in artificial intelligence.
I implemented a small neural network for specific purposes.
It is very hard to guess what thw performance purpose you need

Not into much details are you J4D? Well, if it's for educational purposes, let me know cause you might get some funding for it. Anyway, my stash of hardware with all the sensors and actuators are at your disposal. Which reminds me, a doc wants to sell his DICOM printer for a 100$, I'll post a thread about it tonight with pictures and details. Who knows, you might find something you were looking for.
As per programming, if it's low level or a GUI app, I might find some time to help. In the end, it's all about what you're looking for and specifications of your application.

Hey J4D i think i can help you. I'm a Pro in hardware programming (Specially PICs over 12 years of experience) with a lot of experience in VB.net.

We discussed that earlier Jad, and as we both agree, this will lead to somewhere for sure.
And i'll contribute in the programming part, and would also like to have an idea about the hardware part.
Anyway, you know me very well. Free time and distance are the only disadvantages for me. If it's something really interesting, time issue can be solved.

Arithma, if you want to contribute with the design you will have to be present with me next time i go to the place where they are manufacturing the frame. I still haven't thought a lot about the design yet.
As for everyone else, the website that Ayman in doing will be up and running soon so we can manage the contributions . Can't wait ! :)
