[Help Needed] Locate an Electronic Shop

No, not Katranji or Boujikian or Kanafani, I'm not looking for any electronic shop, I'm looking for a specific electronic shop.

Today at work I met a couple of technicians who weirdly enough mentioned an electronic shop's name "Mechanic's Shop" on Sin El-Fil street in Bouchrieh (weird seeing that they live and work in Saida). I'm trying to look up the name, but it seems to be non-existent. They might have got it wrong, and I don't have their contacts to ask them again about it.

This is where I need help: has anyone heard of this place? It's supposedly "10 times better than Katranji", so it's definitely worth looking for. Anyone?

As far as i know, katranji is the best and has the biggest collection in lebanon.

That's what I know so far, but what if they're right? They know Katranji, but they told me that compared to this shop, Katranji is a speck. Oooohhh, can't wait to see if it's true, imagine all the possibilities, all the hardware, all the electronics we can have *drooling* 8)

There is an electronics shop in Sin-el fil area (mainly around library Antoine and St-Rita Church) i don't remember exactly where.

The place is called CB Electronics, i have been once there (went with a friend so i don't remember exact directions sorry) but as far as i know he has a really decent stock of electronic components, me and my friend were on a project and we got all of our stuff from there.

You can ask around in the sin el fil area especially around Librairie antoine, but im not even sure this is even the place that the two technicians told you about.

Just got some directions, but still an unknown name: it's supposedly next to Habtoor Hotel in Sin El-Fil. Seeing that my dad is already going with his friend to check it out, I'll tell them to check out CB Electronics as well. Will report back hopefully tomorrow.

@nuclearcat: Boujikian comes highly recommended in Doura area, and he has quite a stock of electronics there, but I've only been there once so I can't say if they're equipped with everything.

How disappointed am I to have heard that "The Mechanic Shop" is just like any other small electronic shop? Devastated is the word :(

As for CB Electronics, well it's a good electronics shop but still lacking in terms of the Katranji capacity (i.e. a lot of the electronics have to be ordered unlike Katranji where most electronic parts are available; the store owner even pointed out that we might find what we want at... wait for it... Katranji >|).

But you know what? Even Katranji has it's shortage in stock (along with the staff experience). A lot of SMD capacitors, relays, varistors, snap-action switches, and quite a few more electronic parts with specific voltage and current ratings and in some cases (capacitors) capacitive values are not available. When will DigiKey open in Lebanon? %(

Now I remember that a friend of mine used to get electronic parts from a place known as "Lebantronics" on Sayed Hadi street in my sophomore days. Back then we had a project that needed some DB15 socket connectors, and we didn't find any at Katranji (not the VGA combination of 15 pins along 3 lines, but 15 pins along 2 lines). He got the connectors from there along with some ICs (I can't remember what) which were also not available at Katranji. Personally, I haven't been there. How about you? And do you think I might find there some SMD ceramic capacitors that I've been looking for all over Beirut (to be fair, haven't tried Boujikian yet, will do on Monday)?
