  • 12 year old develops his own theory of relativity

That is amazing - this 12 year old kid has an IQ higher than Einstein himself, holy Pegasus!

Autistic boy,12, with higher IQ than Einstein develops his own theory of relativity
A 12-year-old child prodigy has astounded university professors after grappling with some of the most advanced concepts in mathematics.

Jacob Barnett has an IQ of 170 - higher than Albert Einstein - and is now so far advanced in his Indiana university studies that professors are lining him up for a PHD research role. The boy wonder, who taught himself calculus, algebra, geometry and trigonometry in a week, is now tutoring fellow college classmates after hours.

And now Jake has embarked on his most ambitious project yet - his own 'expanded version of Einstein's theory of relativity'. His mother, not sure if her child was talking nonsense or genius, sent a video of his theory to the renowned Institute for Advanced Study near Princeton University.

According to the Indiana Star, Institute astrophysics professor Scott Tremaine - himself a world renowned expert - confirmed the authenticity of Jake's theory. In an email to the family, Tremaine wrote: 'I'm impressed by his interest in physics and the amount that he has learned so far.

'The theory that he's working on involves several of the toughest problems in astrophysics and theoretical physics.
'Anyone who solves these will be in line for a Nobel Prize.'

Jake was diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome, a mild form of autism, from an early age.
Who knows possibly few years from now he will figure the final theory or Theory of Everything. But I’ve heard that out of these rare prodigy young people, they mostly end up by killing themselves before 25, because they’re too reticent and can’t relate to the outside world. I’m not sure about this though.

A video of him explaining doing some Calculus material.

Son of a ****
Just damn
Guys the IQ test are different depending on the culture of the person so a person in the US will have a different version of the test than a person here in Lebanon. Of course i am talking about the "normal" majority. Many aspects could be taken in the tests and it may include basic math problems, vocabulary, grammar, riddles...etc.

What i am trying to say is that you might find a person with an IQ of 170 but is "stupid" at school.
Einstein used to flunk at school, yet turned out to be genius.

@ Megacool: please provide sufficient evidence regarding the suicide at 25, autistic children attend therapy sessions nowadays (I was invited to attend a session once; the therapist runs a series of activities with the child to grab his/her attention to world objects; it is really cool to see how the child reacts).

If this 12 year old boy receives proper therapy and develops interest in technology, expect to see flying cars soon :)

Thats so not true.
As a matter of fact Einstein did very good in math and physics at school.
@MegaCool: Jake has Asperger's which isn't autism per say (it's categorized as a form of autism because those who suffer Asperger's have difficulty in developing social interactions, but have an intense interest in a certain domain, linguistic i.e. language or cognitive i.e. thinking), so no wonder why he developed such skills. For someone with Asperger's, it's amazing how he's comfortable with socializing whether via camera or in his after-hours tutoring sessions. This kid has a bright future ahead, no danger of committing suicide (he's already "relating to the outside world").

@MrClass: Einstein was brilliant in maths and physics, and he was a top student at elementary school. Though he failed the entrance exams for the poly-technical institute in Zurich, he got top marks in maths and physics. Since he had early speech difficulties, the teachers thought he was stupid and had no future. Idiots...

Hopefully he'll take a Ph.D post, complete his theory, and get a Nobel prize. Good luck Jake :)
