Have you guys seen this? www.AhsanDSL.com or www.TheBestDSL.com

It is a website that does extensive technical comparisons of 4 different ADSL connections and informs you who is the best one at the end of every month. Right now it shows TBD or To Be Determined.

Very good idea... but probably one modem is not enough to estimate... you have to measure latency/loss to ISP NOC first, because it can be local exchange/POP issues.
There is few more ideas, if you are author of this website, i can tell them.

It is 4 identical modems using the same firmware version. All modems are connected to the same C/O. Scripts check latency, jitter, packet loss, website loading time and more. Scripts that produce those graphs do not overlap to avoid inconsistency. Check out the methodology section of their website for all the details.

Even it is 4 identical modems and same CO, ISP's is located not at same location, and connection to specific C/O can be different.
There is no guarantee also that wire pairs going to CO from customer also equal, one of them can be worse than others. Some ISP maybe have on this specific CO faulty equipment and on all other CO in country - perfect, and opposite situation. At specific moment, specific modem can catch "bad" ip address (i remember sodetel and ogero had different routing for different ip's), which is rare, but it will degrade statistical position of specific ISP, and cetera.

But still, i will keep saying, it is much more than other people doing, and amazing project.

I would agree with you if the lines were not new and if they were not being graphed. But, Line quality (line attenuation, line output power, Signal to Noise Ratio) from customer to C/O is being graphed and it clearly demonstrates they are all equal so the comparison is of the ISP's quality. Check their methodology and all their graphs.

C/O connections to ISPs would be considered ISP fault regardless of what end of the connection was at fault (DSP or ISP) The monitoring has been running for almost a month now and the line and DSL status that are both being monitored show as stable. DSLAM load is another criteria that an ISP would have to take up with their DSP provider and again would be considered an ISP fault / lack of planning.

My opinion - you cannot judge ISP just by one modem, that's it. You can compare DSL connection on some specific exchange, specific (current) ip range, and specific service type, and not more than that.

According to their methodology, all four ISP connections that are being compared are through Ras Beirut C/O which is considered to be one of the most stable and reliable C/Os. Moreover, not all are through Ogero.

Any scientific comparison needs to be very diverse and encompassing. The more diverse, the better but obviously cost is always a limiting factor. However, I believe you're missing the point here. As per their website "Although this website is named AhsanDSL or ThebestDSL, it is limited to comparing one class of DSL - 256 Kbps"

yea, try to download over 500 mb with cyberia, and enjoy your 512kbps being capped to 128kbps for the next 4 days, maybe they are the best coz no one is allowed to download :)
